it's that time again... cabbage soup anybody? the recipe: 6 yellow onions 6 tomatoes 3 green bell peppers 1 bunch celery 1 head of cabbage 1 package of lipton's onion soup mix 1 chicken bouillion cube there are so many variations of this soup, but this is the one i made on saturday night and started on sunday. i told myself to do this cleansing in january, but never got around to it. february was such a busy month with chinese new year dinners and meals that i couldn't stick to this diet, and early march was equally as busy. i looked at my calendar and saw that i had no 'eating' plans with anybody for the next 7 days, and started it up yesterday. for readers who have no idea what i'm talking about, i do this cabbage soup diet as a cleansing every couple of months to lose a couple of pounds and clean my innards of toxins. the first time i did it, i was hovering 140 lbs, and i lost about 8 after the 7 days, but gained back 2 almost immediately. the second time i did it, i was at 135-136 lbs and only lost a total of 3 pounds. i've already gained it back, (lack of exercise and just eating whatever, whenever) so i start this diet at 136 lbs. like the last 2 times, i'll record my daily eating schedule and weight loss or gain. day 1: eat all the fruits you want. no bananas. honeydew, cantaloupe, and watermelon are best. drink all the soup you want. i filled myself with apples, pears, and strawberries. i had a honeydew but was too lazy to chop it up. i'll save it for day 3. i had about 4 bowls of soup with the veggies. it's pretty yum. day 2: eat all the vegetables you want. no dry bean or corn. best is leafy green vegetables. drink all the soup you want. at night, reward yourself with a baked potato with butter. i cooked up some lettuce, spinach, zucchini, and asparagus seasoned with salt and a drop of oyster sauce for lunch and dinner today. i also boiled up an artichoke for tonight. maybe i'll bake a potato if i feel like injesting some carbs for some energy. already, i've got some super stinky farts, hehe, and i pooped early this morning. smoooooth. ew, i'm gross. i'll stop. i always regret it once i start because parkin eats so well in front of me. last night he had some leftover beef ribs from tony romas, and soba noodles. he made those loud slurpy noodles which made me drool. and the ribs smelled so good... i could only stare at him with hate while i crunched at my apple. *punk* will power! will power! just got into a fight with my mom.... of course concerning wedding stuff. *sigh* what i would do for a bag of chips and a hostess twinkie right now... must resist must resist |
