"Can i propose to you with this?  I'm a poor man."  He took a beige twisty tie and molded the wire around the fourth finger of her left hand.  She smiled and said ok, knowing the game that they always play.  She kissed him on the cheek, hugged him, and then went to the bathroom to finish getting ready for bed.  When she came out, he opened the top drawer of his nightstand and pulled something out.  "I made you a CD."  Oh goody, she thought.  He hadn't made her a CD since new years 2002 and was due for a new one in her car.  Upside down with the blue side up, he tried to push her finger through the hold in the middle of the disc.  Laughing, she said, "it doesn't fit on my finger!  My finger is too fat."  She pulled the disc off and turned it around to see the title of her new CD.  Written in big blue letter, her name was on the top and along the bottom he wrote, will you marry me?    Her heart stopped and she looked up at the love of her life with tears ready to form in her moist eyes.  "Is this...?  Are you...?"  He looked over and her and said no.

Oh.

Feeling very rejected and extrememely embarrassed, she looked down at the CD.  He continued, "there's nothing on the CD.  I just wanted to do this for fun.  See, remember you said that you didn't want a blue ring.  See, blue CD, like the blue ring you don't want, so you turn it over and it's platinum.  Just like you want!  See, that's all."

"So this isn't a... you aren't... are you sure that there's nothing on the CD?"  Her hopes were still high and that was just way too anti-climactic for her.  "No, it wasn't.  There's nothing on the CD."  He chuckled, turned around and lay back on his bed.  The blood rushed back through her body and her heart resumed beating.  She was disappointed and sad, but she really wasn't expecting him to propose.  Like he said, he's too poor to buy a ring right now.  It was a fun game that they just played, sort of... but not really.

After a while, they both got into bed and cuddled.  "That wasn't very nice honey.  My heart stopped there for a  minute.  You tricked me...  Can i listen to the CD anyways?"  It was still bugging her, but she was slowly getting over it.  He looked at her and said, "there's nothing on it, really.  I was just playing with you," and he went on to explain the blue/platinum story again.  He started sniffling so he reached over and grabbed some tissue from the bottom drawer of his nightstand.  He wiped his nose, put the tissue on the table and grabbed the CD.  "Let's just try to put this on your finger again."  Both giggling, he tried to push her finger through the hole, but just as before, it would not fit.  He was not giving up though.  "Let's try the twisty again."  Overcome with laughter at his ludicrous thought, she entertained the idea.  Once again, she replied, "it doesn't fit, honey."

"Well, let's see if this fits then."  All of the giggling and laughter ceased as he pulled out the most beautiful and exquisite diamond engagement ring she had ever seen.  She cradled it in her hand as the ring hypnotized her with it's sparkling refections of light.  Her lit eyes filled with all too ready tears of happiness and disbelief.  "Oh my gosh honey, this is so beautiful,"  she repeated over and over again.  He rolled off of the bed and got down on one knee before her.  He took the ring into his hand and took hold of her trembling hand.  With tears coming down both of their faces, he said, "Sarah Lee, will you marry me?"  Parkin carefully slid the dazzling ring onto my finger and it was a perfect fit.  I got down on my knees, joined him on the floor and said yes.  We hugged and cried together, then sealed the perfect engagement proposal with many sweet kisses.

and i'm still the luckiest girl in the world, to have this man.

~~

this morning, i weighed 133lbs.

day 4:
today you eat bananas and non fat milk.  you need potassium on this day.  do not exceed 8 bananas today, and don't forget to drink soup!

i think day 4 is usually the hardest day for me.  just bananas and milk.  i hardly ever drink milk by itself.  it's always to wash doughnuts down, or something sweet.  i use to hate bananas, but i don't anymore.  tonight i'll be making banana milkshakes, which i love.  2 cups milk and 3 bananas, yum.  frothy and delish.

only 4 more days to go
