i had such a good time last night!  the hobbling and numbness in my ankle and knee hardly bothered me at all!  i was feeling pretty crappy all day, but had a great time at bocce cafe.  i had made some jello shots for peg's bbq the week before, but no one ate them so peg suggested i bring them to the dinner so i did.  they didnt' even wrinkle up during the week and they were firm and yummy.  so after a couple of shots at dinner, then a few more shots at ibiza, i wasn't feeling the pain at all!  i walked to the club tottering, but was dancing fine for awhile, then left the club hobbling a bit because the pain was coming back to me.  it was really cool because the club stayed up partying til 4am and the crowd was great... except for this one guy.

he was really rude.  i was sitting down cuz my legs were bothering me, but still moving to the beat and semi-dancing.  tally and cindy were behind me, wil was dancing in front of me then this tall white guy with a funky accent came up next to me, extended his hand to me and asked me to dance.  i said no but thanks anyways.  then he came up close to me and started saying stuff like, 'i'm just asking for a dance, nothing more.  what did you come here to do, have fun right?  i did too, so just come dance with me for fun, to have fun, nothing more."  i kept telling him that i came out with some friends and i was ok, but he kept insisting that i dance with him and have fun.  when he finally got the point, he came up close one more time and said, "that's a typical chinese response"  i was a bit appalled at his comment, but what he said didn't bother me too much until the drive home.  what was that suppose to mean?  after he left, i saw him go to his friends and i could tell that he was bitching about me.  whatever.  so i continued to sit and dance, then he came up to me once again and said, "look, i'm just here to have fun.  i just want to dance, i'm not asking for much."  i said, 'ok, you go have fun then.  i'm having fun here with my friends'  i had to tell him no again and he kept at it.  at this point, he was ruining my fun.  i was getting really annoyed and i don't think that my smile was sincere any longer.  i said no one more time and turned away.  and again, i saw him go to his friends and talk, look at me, and talk some more.  people like him really ruin the clubbing experience.  dont' take it so personally, i was out with some friends and didnt' want to dance with you!  earlier that night when tally and i were walking around, this guy had come up to us and asked us to dance.  we both said thanks, but no and although he stuck with us for a little bit, he walked away and looked for another victim.  that's how it should be.  typical chinese response... whatever.

regardless of that horrible encounter, i still had a really good time.  i was afraid that parkin was going to be bored because he doesn't drink or dance, he only went to make sure i was ok because of my sprains, but he ran into some friends there so he was happy and hung out with them.  by the time we dropped off cindy and tally at home then paul at ivy & oli's house, it was already 4:30am!  parkin slept on the floor with me and by the time we both washed up and set up the floor, it was around 5:15.  bijeezuz!  way past our bedtimes!

so this morning around 10am, (way to early) my brother called us to have dinner with the family.  a few days ago, it was my dad's 10 years of being alive anniversary.  my dad had a heart attack in may 1992 and although doctors were not optimistic, he survived and he hasnt' smoked since.  it was a very difficult time in all of our lives then, but i think it made us all even stronger.

here are some pictures from last night's dinner & dancing, and tonight's dinner, thanks to parkin's digital.  mine's still on the fritz.      (oops, family dinner pictures didnt' fit.  will be on the next day's entry.  tehee)
happy birfday betty!  hope you had lots of fun!  the rest of us sure did!
