i had such a wonderful, much needed mini vacation this past weekend.  after i had gotten laid off, i booked a flight to irvine and joined cindy to surprise peg on saturday morning.  i took the day off and came back around 9:15 this evening.  if it weren't for a pink concert that jung and i have been looking forward to tomorrow, i would have stayed much longer. on saturday morning, aric picked cin and i up at the airport and when we got back to their house, cin walked through the door and peg was speechless, then i followed and peg just sat there on her bed holding ashlyn with a stunned look on her face.  all of a sudden, she quickly lay ashlyn on the bed, (almost looked like she just let go of her) and ashlyn bounced on the bed as peg ran up to us and hugged us.

wil was already there and knew that we were coming.  man, how hard it must have been to keep it a secret!!!  and cin was really proud of herself because she had been keeping her trip a surprise since april or something!  wow, good job.  it was a perfectly executed plan.  i'm so thrilled that i was able to be a part of it in such short notice. after we all got ready, peg, ashlyn, wil, cindy and i went to have lunch at an outdoor mall.  the weather out there in irvine was just beautiful.  we wanted to eat outdoors, but since it was such a perfect day, they were all booked out there and we opted for a table bright from the outside sun.

the food was scrumptous and afterwards we walked around the mall and shopped around for the rest of the day.  we met up with aric and his friends wey and jeff for dinner.  i haven't had so much beer since last october in hong kong for a bierfest celebration with my friend may and my hk friend ben.  hella fun. sunday morning... or afternoon we got ready and head to a little town by the water, rented a boat and had lunch before wil and tony left us to meet tony's parents for dinner.  cin, peg, ashlyn and i drove down near san diego to do some outlet shopping.  fun fun!  i got a pair of sexy shoes that i dont' know when i'll have a chance to wear, (thanks cin!) a everyday wear gap jacket, and pair of rice picker overalls.  and i also got a nice shirt from the banana republic outlet for parkin.  while we were shopping at banana and gap, i noticed that the 3 of us were all looking for clothes for our men.  i find that to be a trend whenever i go shopping with girls, we are always looking for clothes for our men... as if they didnt' know how to shop for themselves, we take time from our own shopping time, to look for clothes for them.  interesting...  does this happen to you women readers? peg took us to a korean restaurant next door to tapioca express, the joint that i've been hoping to go, and peg introduced me to mini tapioca pearls.  YUMMMMMY!  we went back to her house, played with ashlyn and popped in ocean's eleven.  after about 15 minutes, cin and i fell asleep.  i dont' know how peg did it.  she came back from china only friday morning, woke up, took us around all day saturday and sunday and never looked like she was even a bit jet-lagged... until monday.  haha.  girlfriend could not get up until about 1:30.  cin and i kept ourselves busy tho, making frozen chocolate bananers and waffles, popped in ocean's eleven again, and finished the movie. ashlyn and peg got up and we headed over to pat&oscars for a nice lazy outdoor lunch.  then already, we had to drop of cin at the airport.  an hour later, i was back at the airport not ready to leave.  sorry for the quick non detailed overview of the weekend.  i just wanted to get caught up and done with it.  hehe...  i really didn't want to leave irvine, i had a wondeful time.  thanks so much to wil, cindy, peg, aric and babygirl ashlyn for a fun fun trip.  i miss you guys already!
