hearst castle is a huge gorgeous mansion that mr william hearst and his family owned then donated to the state.  now it is a national state park that shows it off to tourist and earns bundles of money still.  mr hearst lived a successful life and died with a fortune.  picture above is just one of the wings of the house near the gardens.
above: the famous pools at the castle with statues of god and goddesses all round
he lived above the clouds (bottom left) and had wine from the 1800's in a locked cellar (bottom right)
the view from this mansion was just breathtakingly spectacular.  parkin and i joked that he was like God, looking down on his minions from up there.  the house was seriously built above the clouds, it was amazing how filthy rich this guy was, and still is even in death.  we were all quite envious.

we started the drive home after the tour, reached burlingame and had dinner at sushi sam's *yummy*, then got back to his house around 10pm.  *yawn* so tired.  what a relaxing long weekend, i'm sad that it's already over.  thank you to the jung family for taking care of me this weekend, i had a wonderful time.

i dont' want to go back to work tomorrow! ;)
