| after i talked to my insurance company yesterday afternoon, i immediately called my body shop and made an appointment for today to bring my car in and get my window replaced and car cleaned up. i've taken my car to daland body shop for years now, ever since my first fender bender, all have not been my fault! and they take real good of my car, even washing and vacuuming it for me after whatever i need done. i was quite embarassed because my car was super thick with dirt and pollen from the past couple of weeks and i never had a chance to wash it. they've seen my car so much this year that they all remember me when i call or go into the shop. when i talked to erik from daland body yesterday, he was like, "again? already?" the secretary said the same thing to me when i got there this afternoon. :/ rob allowed me a paid half day yesterday so that i could get my window replaced. he felt really bad that this vandalism happened to ME... AGAIN. he even offered to pay for the window, but he just said that, i'm not really sure whether or not he will do that as well as pay me for taking half the day. we'll see if he offers again. ever since i'd been laid off and rehired, rob and rose have been really nice to me, or just making more of an effort to get to know me, which is really nice. i think it also helps that we decided to have weekly meetings to talk about issues during the week. with those, i think that the company grows stronger from the inside. so after we had lunch, i seperated from the group and headed to south san francisco with my dirty car full of glass, broken window, and torn door interior. they estimated that it would take a little over and hour, but it ended up being a little over 2 hours, but i didnt' mind one bit. i had brought a book to read, the piers anthony book, 'man from mundania' which i am thoroughly enjoying. this is the 12th book of the xanth series. so i went to the nearby arby's, bought a drink and plopped down to read. while reading, i got a very exciting call from ET. the short indie movie that she wrote/directed/produced, that i had the wonderful opportunity to act in last year was accepted into the san diego asian film festival!!! i was so stoked from the news, all i could say was 'wow' throughout the conversation with her. that is so exciting. she was also telling me that one of the sponsors of the film festival included ang lee. ang lee! cool! she doesnt' think that he'll show up to the festival itself, but if he did, and stayed to see our movie, that would be amazing, especially if he liked it! i'm so happy for et, it was incredible news to hear. so if any of you are out in the san diego area from october 3-6, our movie, 'dai fu blues' will be showing!!! if you want to find more information about the festival, the number to call is 619.291.7040. that's a number the et gave me if i wanted to try to get tickets. unfortunately, i prolly won't be able to, but in case someone out there can! hehe, so very cool. after i got my car fixed, and cleaned, *hehe, so shiney my car :)* i went to parkin's house and decided to start a workout routine. parkin keeps playing with the waddle under my chin. grrr.... i put a fat load of laundry into the machine, got into workout gear, popped in the x-men dvd, stretched and went on the eliptical machine for 10 minutes. good lord, i'm outta shape. i got off huffin and puffin and did some free weights for a little bit to keep my heart rate up, then went back on the machine for 35 minutes. i was sweatin like a pig. there was no wind picking up anywhere in the city so having the window open was useless. after getting off, i did a cool down, walked around the house, drank lots of water and picked up some weights and worked on my biceps and back muscles. geez, back in college, i was so much stronger. i remember being able to do curls - 4 sets of 10-12 reps with 15lb weights. now i'm having to challenge my body to 4 sets of 15 reps with 7lb free weights that i have. sheesh. i was so exhausted, but forced myself to do extra sets and then a vigorous abdominal workout. i started cramping near the end but stretched it out and kept at it. i finished stretching by the end of the movie and felt great. i couldn't wait to hop in the shower tho. *yuck* i hate sweating. it's so uncomfotable and dirty! *blah* ( i went to bed with a couple of new pimples on my forehead, from the sweat, no question bout it. grrr... ) after i showered, i had dinner, and park and parkin head to the gym. they both have 24 hour fitness memberships, but i too po' to get one. it's all good tho, parkin got the machine for us to use, mostly me since i dont' have a membership and prolly won't get one for some time. i brought my free weights over there and with those, a chair, tv and dvds, i'm set. ;) my own personal gym. while i was eating dinner, i turned on mtv to watch a real world marathon before the season finale. after that, i watched brandy's baby's birth and as i watched and folded the laundry, jung and jung came home. i'm glad that parkin decided to go to the gym after dinners with jung. park's lost so much weight in the past couple months, he's been on a really good routine, working out 3-4 times a week and staying pretty active. i think that parkin's been a bit jealous of little brother. i know i have! hehee. after working out, parkin is always in a good mood and sings and dances around the house. i'm pooped tho, and my arms are starting to get really sore, really really sore. geez, i'm so outta shape. |
