| i still feel pretty crappy today. my back is killing me, i still have a headache, and i'm so tired. i get to the office hours before my co-workers so once again, i put my head down til 9. i don't like to take medicine, but my back is hurting so much that i just took some motrin, i just can't take it anymore... the motrin really is helping but i hate to have to rely on pills... last night after i left parkin's house, i went to meet mayu at her friend tina's house. mayu got her eyebrows and eyeliner tattooed last month by her friend tina in toronto at that time, i had planned to get mine done in chinatown where my mom got hers done, but once i saw mayu's, i wanted to go to tina. mayu called me last week and told me that tina would be in town, in millbrae, and she could set up an appointment for me. i was so excited, of course i said yes. then she called me about the price and i was almost going to cancel but decided that it would be worth it because of how natural mayu's looked. i went to tina's house and met up with mayu and her friend dana. mayu just finished retouching both her brows and lids, dana was getting started on her brows. i got there pooped and tired, but waited patiently for my turn. tina put the anestetic on my brows then finished working on dana's lids. when it was finally my turn, i colored my right side brow the way i liked it, and tina did my left. she matched it perfectly. then i wanted to see how my brows would look with a little bit of an arch, so tina gave me an arch. i wasn't used to it, and mayu agreed that i should keep it the way i usually have it, so we agreed on the shape and tina went to work. tina's method of tattooing is not with a machine, but just needles and ink, a feathering technique. and unlike other saloons, she mixes the colors to what i wanted, which was a dark brown, not black. *plink, plink, plunk, plink* away she went, and the anestetic kept the pain from me, but after 10 minutes or so, i think it started to wear out. i started shaking my foot a little, but didnt' want to interrupt tina. mayu saw my shaking leg and asked if i was ok, and i admitted to being in a bit of pain. tina put my anestetic cream on my brow and it worked immediately. *very cool* once again numbed, she went back and finished up my brows. the end result was perfect! |

| before- with no brows, small sleepy eyes, and a goffy grin during - frosted brows with anestetic | ||||||||||||||
| after - with my new tattooed brows! it's a little darker than i like right now, and i think one side has more of an arch, but tina will be back in month or two for retouching. the color will actually be lighter after the top layer scabs away, but looking at the picture now, i really like how dark the color is... we'll see how it looks next week. for the next 3 days, i have to keep the brows moisturized with an ointment that tina gave me. it's very thick and petroleum jelly-like, but i can feel it healing under there. i'm really happy with the outcome. *thanks mayu, for setting up the appointment for me and introducing me to tina!* *yawn* still 3 more hours of work... constuction going on right next to me here. think i'll go to someone else's desk to rest my tired eyes... the motrin is wearing off too, my back is starting to ache again. *sigh* |
