day
since parkin and i had only a few things to do before the evening, we didn't feel the need to rush to get out of bed or anything.  parkin got out of bed around 10, went to the kitchen as i stayed in my room to watch cartoons, and he made us breakfast. afterwards, lounging, reading, and watching tv, joyce called and said, 'i just dropped jaime off at the airport.  wanna hang out?'  umm... errr...  knowing that my parents wouldn't want anyone over on such short notice, i asked her to meet us at serremonte since we were planning to go there later in the afternoon.  i didnt' want to say no because it was not often joyce was in the city.  plus i  haven't seen her in quite awhile, but i wished that she would have called earlier, maybe even yesterday, it wasn't that the business trip was last minute, right?  i said something to her about calling earlier, and she said that she didn't want to call while she was with jaime... why not?  i thought that to be a bit odd... :/   i told her that we'd try to meet up with her in about 45 minutes.

a couple errands and an hour and a half later, *sorry joyce*  we met her at taco bell at serremonte.  parkin and my plan for today was to go mattress shopping.  i think i've talked about his horrible futon before, and how much i hate it.  as a wedding gift, his parents are going to buy us a new mattress, and for weeks we haven't had time to look for one, so that was our plan today.  i felt really bad dragging joyce down to macy's to run our errands with us, but she ran around while we looked for things for the house.  at our mattress shop while i was talking to the salesman about the mattress that parkin and i agreed on, the two of them fell asleep!  *shesh*  i woke parkin up to confer with me about the  prices and let joyce rest longer.  after about 20 minutes, i woke up sleeping beauty and we continued on our trek.
macy's is having a really good 'home' sale right now and parkin and i were debating whether or not to get a few things for the house, or wait and put it on our registry.  i'd hate to wait to get things like comforter and sheets for the new bed tho, especially at these great low prices!   since we are planning on getting an eastern king bed, sheets will be a bit difficult to get, but the comfortor priced originally at $300 is only $175 right now, and that's not taking in account the tax discount macy's is offering right now.  soo.... i might just get the comforter now.  chinese superstition says that the grooms family buys the bed and set, but bride must buy sheets/blankets and such for bed, or anyone else BUT the groom or his family.  who makes up these things?!

anyways, after macy's we all got a bit hungry and head over to the food court.  i felt so bad, i had no cash on me and had to ask parkin to buy me a snack.  even tho it's only a few dollars, parkin and i tend to be a very independent couple, and since the beginning over 5 years ago, we'd go dutch quite often. then  it's always a nice surprise when one of us decide to treat the other, but most of the time, it's
here, is this enough to cover mine?  my cousin dana used to think that we were a very odd couple to be doing that still after so many years, but i guess after doing it for so many years, we've gotten quite used to it, which makes the dinners or meals that he pays for, or vice versa, so much sweeter.

i think joyce got a bit bored with us, and after going to target, she departed from us and said that she had to head back to san jose.  parkin picked up a couple of things at target, then i went to victoria's secret to take a peek.  my bra's have been getting pretty beat-up and even tho i dont' like to spend that much on such a tiny piece of clothing, i've learned that sometimes it's worth it to spend just a little bit more on quality.  i found a comfort bra for only $19.50 (a damn good price for a victoria secret bra)  and went to try it on.  on the way to the dressing room, the nice saleswoman who was nearby asked me if i wanted to be measured.  knowing that i'd gained a few pounds since my last measurement, i said yes.  yup, i've gained more inches around and moved on to another size.  *sigh*

a pair of shoes caught my eye while we walked around and i went into the store to try it on.  while i slipped my shoe off to try the other one on, parkin said, 'joyce is still here, over there'
huh?  interesting!  so we were holding her back!  i went over to her and she showed me a pair of sandals that she bought, at a different store.  then she left... again.  no, i didnt' see her again.  : P
