i really wanted to get rid of the blue in my hair, i mean the lack of blue in my hair, and it was time to get a haircut, so i mentioned it to my mom and she said that she would cut it for me.  my mom's been cutting my hair since i was a kid, so sure, save me a couple of bucks and a trip to chinatown, haha.  besides, my hair is so long and blah, it's just a straight cut along the bottom.  no layers, no highlights, no nothing.  pretty simple.  and again, my mom's cut my hair a million times before, so of course imma trust her to do a fine job.

i asked her to cut about 4 inches, that would be enough to secure that all the blue would be gone and whatever dryness would be chopped off.  my hair came down to the waistline of my pants, so a good 4 inches wouldn't look too dramatic of a cut, it would still be pretty damn long.

bottom most layer, snip snip snip, and 4 inches were gone.  to even it out, another inch came off.  ooooookaaaay.  so the next layer of hair came down, and to even it out with the layer beneath, an automatic 5 inches came off.  to even it all up, another inch.   the last layer came down... to even it out with the prior layers, 6 inches came off first.... then to even it all up again, another inch.  *yikes*
so um, yeah, ended up cutting a lot more than planned, and that piece up above... that's without the extra inch of evening out.  a total of about 7 inches was cut.  my hair is now a little bit below my bra line in the back.  unfortunately with all the attempts to even it out, it's still pretty uneven and crooked.  :/   after my mom finished, she noticed her crookedness and wanted to fix it, and i kept letting her, but after another few snips here and there i told her that it was ok, that it was fine.  it was just getting shorter and shorter!  so then after a few moments, i mixed my bleach and applied it to about an inch and a half of my hair, then let it set.  i thought if i at least made the bleached part straight, it would give the illusion of my hair really looking straight, but no.  it didn't.  bad bad hair night.  i didnt' put the red in yet, so right now it's a orange/brown color.
i'm going to irving street after work today to get a cut to even it all out, then i'll put the red in tonight or tomorrow.  i miss my red.  *sigh*  i know, i know, should not have wasted my mom's time, but who woulda thought that she'd mess up after all these years?  haha, when i told her that i was going to get it cut today, she said, 'no, let's go home and i'll try to even it out again!'  uh, no thanks.  i'm not ready to have a bob cut just yet.

side note:  i went walking around our millbrae downtown area to find a salon to cut my hair yesterday.  damn, there were like 5 in two blocks, i never knew!  anyways, to just get a simple straight across cut woulda cost me minimum $20 to $45!!!  that's without shampoo and blowdry!  what a rip!  shoo, that's y i'm heading to irving street look for the walk-in $8 cut.  i'm such a cheap-skate when it comes to my hair.  i'm gonna regret it when i get older.  :)  when i finally decide to cut the bulk of my hair off, i'll invest more money, but right now, it's just not worth it.
