ok, i was sooo wrong when i thought that yesterday would be uneventful, picking up dana, having dinner and dropping her off to pick up her new car.

i was pretty tired by the time i picked her up, and it was sooo cold.  (are we sure it's still summer?)  we head over to nordstrom rack because dana had to return a couple of items.  plus we had time to kill since her friend herm wasn't home yet.  i looked around and didnt' find anything but a pair of shoes for parkin and a couple of hair accessories.  i've been leaving my hair down these past couple of days.  when i put it up, it doesn't wrap as cleanly as it used to.  lots of little flyaways. ;)   so finally herm was home and we went over to his house.

i don't know why, but whenever i go out to eat with some people, they look to me on where to eat.  i really didn't care, and i said that, but whenever someone made a suggestion, they looked at me to make the deciding decision.  i don't like that, it bugs me.  when i say i don't care, it really means that.  i can usually find something on the menu from wherever we go.  i'm sometimes a finicky eater, but i've never been not able to find something i want to eat when i look at a menu.  parkin used to do that too.  he's learned to just decide when i'm not craving anything in particular.

so finally someone said japanese, looked at me, and i said fine, that's fine.  i was tired, a little hungry, and just wanted to get going because i was HOPING to get home to watch american idol, hehe and go to bed.  but it was already 8:30 by then and i knew i wouldn't make it home on time, so i called my mom to record it for me.  we went up to westborough and there was a japanese restaurant to our right, and one to our left.  both dana and herm had been to the one on the left before, so in my head i was thinking, ok, we'll go there since it's more familiar, but herm said he wanted to try out the other one, so we parked and went in.

this was not a dinky little typical japanese restaurant.  this place turned out to be a kareoke bar/restaurant run by filipinos.  they looked at us oddly when we walked in.  obviously we weren't regulars.  the speaker was blaring at us where they seated us, so we had to yell at each other to talk.   we resigned ourselved to yelling our words and got used to it.  all of a sudden, the lights dimmed and 2 buff women and a petite boy stepped onto the stage.  wait... the two buff women were actually men, and the petite boy had gloss lipstick on!  they started singing, yup, definately men.  our food came out, and we were soooo close to the stage and right in front of the blaring speaker, that we decided we should move to the back.  great surround sound tho, so we couldn't continue with a conversation if we wanted to.

in between the vocals, the men... women?.... performers.... the performers were talking to the audience members, making jokes, talking among themselves, they sounded really fun, but they were all speaking in tagalog.  it would have been enjoyable if we understood a word of it.  haha.  but boy, did they have great voices, especially the petite boy who sang an amazing whitney houston number.  even the audience members that went up on stage to sing sang great.  we were really impressed but i think herm was really weirded out because throughout dinner, he would look up at the stage, look at his food, and laugh to himself.  we were eating and listening, trying not to make any eye contact with the performers because they were interacting with the audience and we didn't want to make a peep.  hehe.  although i was enjoying the songs, i noticed that i was eating faster and faster.  it was like i wanted to stay and listen, but not really.  as soon as herm finished, he asked for the check, dana treated, and we head out.

while we drove away, herm said, "when you ladies are out with me, there's never a dull moment" or something like that.  haha. shoot, i just realized that i shoulda taken some pictures, but i was eating too fast to remember that i had my camera!  but taking a picture was the last thing on my mind at that time.   :D

AMERICAN IDOL
wow, i can not believe that tamyra was voted off!  i really thought that justin and nikki would be the 2 with the least amount of calls.  damn.  what a shock.  even the judges looked really disappointed.  the hosts were letting her do her thank you's and stuff, then all of a sudden, the vcr went fuzzy.  dammit.  can someone
please tell me what tamyra said?  the last thing i heard her say was that she wasn't surprised...but she had all of these tears streaming down her face.  man, i hope justin doesn't win.   i think imma try to vote next week. :)

my super cool friend ty offered to host me a new site!  i've known ty since the 3rd grade and he's a super smart computer guy.  i was bitching to him about how geocities limits my space and shuts down my site every so often and asked him if he knew anyone that would host me... for free.  hehe.  i didnt' know that he could, but he can, and he offered.  *beam*  the neat thing is that i have unlimited space, the bad thing is that i've gotten so accustomed to geocities' page builder.  i'm going to have
peg teach me how to use dreamweaver and try hard not to copy her too much.  hehe.  it is going to take awhile for this transition, but i'm super excited!  my new site will be here.   it's not ready yet and nothing is there now, but it's reserved for me, me, me, me.  hehe, just saying.  :)

to be continued... maybe
