| this morning parkin and i tried to wake up early to go to our friend's bbq, but we couldn't get up til about 10 and out of the house til 11. we got to coyote point and it was a HOT HOT day! yes we go there super late, but luckily we got there in time to see a friend's baby boy for the first time. he was sooo adorable. babies everywhere i tell ya. i love watching parkin at bbq's. he's all about the food and stays close to the bbq pit and food table. everyone brought great food too, korean ribs, chicken, hot dogs, salad, grilled corn on the cob, salads, hot links, burgers, sangria, krispy kream, watermelon... mmm, yummy. as everyone lounged around and chilled, parkin and i took a little walk and tried to get down to the water, but didn't make it, so we just stopped and watched the water from where we were. when we got back to the picnic site, everyone was just kickin it still. i heard a girl talk to the hostess saying that she should start a game for everyone so people weren't just sitting around. it was really hot tho, so understandable why everyone wanted to just chill, but i guess the girl thought that people looked bored. caroline and vince planned a wondeful labor day weekend picnic. we had a great time! pictures to come... after leaving coyote point, parkin and i dropped off some food at his place then head to the bridge theater on geary street and watched the thriller one hour photo starring robin williams. it's an indie film so it's not showing in the major century or amc theaters. the movie was slow in the beginning but picked up later. it's very interesting to watch robin williams as a bad guy and quite disturbing in a good way. i think he's a great actor and loved watching him play a psycho. unfortunately there was an idiot who was snoring the whole showing, and it was really bad by the last 20 minutes of the film. rude i tell ya. if you're that tired, you really shouldn't be watching a movie! it totally ruined the movie going experience for the rest of us and i was concentrating so much of thinking how rude the guy and people yelling out 'someone wake the guy up!' that i lost a bit of the ending. *boo!* i liked the movie nonetheless. i really want to watch insomnia now tho, to see robin williams as another psycho. he's an awesome actor, he's got good range. i was an extra on the set of 'flubber' yeah, it wasn't movie, but seeing robin williams in person made me a fan. he's so interactive and funny live! very entertaining. when we got back to jung's place we made some food and popped 'in the bedroom' into the dvd player. i really liked it but parkin fell asleep 1/2 and hour into the movie. dana called and said that she and brian were heading over to play mj. around 10:30 or so, she called again and said that they were on the way over, *lagger* but i figured that she wouldn't get here til 11 if they were in fact on the way this time. parkin and i were pretty pooped from the day tho so i told her forget it. *such the old couple we are* we got ready for bed, popped in the chinese vcd 'women from mars' where the three main guys got their goo-goo's taken away. haha. it was aiiiight. yay, one more day of weekend! |
