ok, i've gone crazy and decided to partake in the cabbage diet. seeing that i had no weddings, parties, or getaways this next weekend, i thought that i'd try this miracle diet and try to shed a quick couple of pounds. losing the pounds would be great but i think i'm also doing this to test my will power. i've always told myself and others, that i could never diet because i enjoy food way too much. this diet is interesting tho, i do get to eat plenty of the foods on the program which include all the veggies and fruits i want on certain days, so we'll see how these next 7 days will go. ABOUT CABBAGE SOUP (from online sources) the cabbage soup diet is based on a fat burning soup that contains negligable calories. the more soup you eat, the more weight you lose. it relies on allowing people to eat as much cabbage soup as they want and this appeals to dieters. although NOT suitable for long term weight loss, the cabbage food diet is a low fat, high fiber diet that will help get you into shape fast before you embark on a more moderate long term eating plan. PROS you'll lose weight fast, you can eat as much as the food listed in the food program. although the diet is only for seven days, (and should NOT be adhered to any longer) it provides a good kick start into a more moderate program. CONS some people find the soup bland. some people have reported feeling light headed, weak, and have suffered from decreased concentration. there are variations of the cabbage soup, but this is the recipe that my mom followed and made a huge pot full of: 6 yellow onions 4-6 tomatoes, or 1-2 cans peeled tomatoes 1 big cabbage 3 green bell peppers 1 bunch celery 1 envelope lipton onion or vegetable soup 1 cube chicken bouillion add some cilantro (from online source) this soup you drink it any time and every time you feel hungry. this soup has no calories, the more soup you drink the more weight you loose. it is important to know that with only soup, you can not survie a few days. you will need to combine with the food program. my jar of soup for the day pictured below. it's actually not as bad as i thought it was going to be. |

day 1 eat all kind of fruits but no bananas. the best is honeydew, cantaloupe and watermelon. they have the least amount of calories. drink the soup, sugar free tea, sugar free juice like sugar free cranberry juice and all the water you can drink. the more water you drink the more weight you loose. i was suppose to start this diet yesterday but didn't get my soup early enough in the morning, so my mom said that i could not start until today. (she's become the miracle diet pro) first thing this morning after my morning pee, :) i weighed myself. i weigh in at 138 pounds. i will be weighing myself in the morning on a daily basis to report the loss or gain of weight during the next 7 days. the bad things i hear about this diet from dana is that i might be gassy and stinky. since it is a whole lotta cabbage to consume, i'm thinking that i'll be gassy. but dana also mentioned that she's known people on it that have gone on it and kind of have this aroma to them.... sounds gross. at least no one will be here in the office today, and i decided to take 9/11 off so i won't be around too many people in an enclosed area that day. i'll be sure to bring my body spray around me as well. ;) so along with my jug of soup, i have a large container of watermelon and grapes to munch on today. i have already consumed 2 bowls of the soup, 5 glasses of water, and gone to the bathroom a couple of times! haha... my bodily functions work fast. it's 11am now and my tummy is grumbling! time for some watermelon! wish me luck this week and i will keep you all posted! |
