the diet is finally over.  man, dieting is hard over the weekends, but it's finally over and i'm done!  i weighed in at 130lbs this foggy monday morning.  yay!  back to my morning cereal. mmmmm.....  now that the diet is over, i'm going to attempt to develop a better everyday eating plan.  more veggies, less meat and of course less carbs.   the only real complaint i have of the diet is that i had a real difficult time with bowel movements during the last half of the diet.  :(  i feel so plugged up!  and i really think that once i let it go... hehe, i might actually weigh less!  anyways for anyone that just wants to shed a few extra pounds in just a week, this is definately the way to go.  the soup's not bad, i don't think, and once you get a hang of what you can or cannot eat, it gets pretty simple.  email me if you would like details of the diet.

**happy belated birfday to peg who celebrated her birfday on saturday!**
early saturday afternoon, dana came by and i grilled some steaks on the george foreman grill i got parkin about 3 christmaseseses ago and we had a filling lunch of spinach, steaks and eggs (for jung and dana).  yummy.  then dana and i left parkin to head over to elegant lace brial in san jose to look at some wedding gowns.  finally.

sharon, the woman who was helping me, was soooo nice.  everyone there at elegant lace bridal was really nice and so patient.  it was a great place to start my search.  i was able to find a style that i really liked and dana was so helpful.  i had a really good time.  here are a couple of picures of dresses that i know i will not be choosing.
i liked this dress at first, but dana neighed it the peek a boo dress i liked, but a little on the heavy side
princess fiona (from shrek) dress
the store didn't limit me in how many gowns i wanted to try on, and i think i tried over 12 different gowns, maybe more.  i was pooped by the last 3, but i had a lot of fun.  there ended up being 5 that i put down onto a list, but now that i think about it, only 2 that i really like. (not pictured)  but gatdamn, gowns are expensive!  yes, i already knew this, but just looking at some dresses and comparing them to others, it's hard to believe that some of them cost so much compared to others ones i tried on that were less expensive ones.  my boss' fiance's dress cost $6,000.  it's a vera wang dress and she said that it was cheap for a vera wang.  geez, if i had $6,000, i wouldn't be spending it on a dress.  i'm much rather spend the money on our honeymoon.  damn, six thousand dollars for a dress?  chee seen.

dana and i were going to head over to david's bridal as well, but i was pooped!  so we head over to valley fair to make do some returns and buy some gifts, then safeway to get food for dinner.  since i was in san jose, i was planning to head over to my friend brandon's birfday bash, but was soooo tired, i knew that i wouldn't have been good company if i stopped by.  plus i had the lowest of low energy level.  *sorry guys!*

dinner for day 6:
beef lettuce wraps
dana also began her adkin's diet this weekend, so it was also a perfect meal for her.  we ate dinner and watched high crimes on dvd.  **thanks dana for a wonderful day.  i had such a good time hanging out with you!  don't move back to jersey!!!  hehe**

sunday was another tough day.  parkin and i got up late, fixed lunch, ate, watched tv, got into a huge arguement, grrr... then went downtown to nordstrom rack, macy's, old navy and finally ikea in the east bay.  at ikea, parkin got a heaping plate of swedish meatballs and fries with lindonberry juice, while i munched on an iceburg lettuce salad.  with no dressing.  :(

dinner for day 7:
we went home and i prepared some pureed soup with brown rice and tomatoes.

i don't feel like i lost weight, but i feel great.  i think that the cabbage soup diet was a good way for me to cleanse my insides and my will to say no to certain foods were stronger than i thought.  i withstood parkin's munchings on beef jerky, spam, bacon, reese's peanut butter cups, cookies, and hot links.  my co-worker's urging me to eat candy, strawberry shortcake, and cereal, and dana tempting me to give in to a cosco hotdog and cheese.  i think that i may do this soup diet every once in awhile just as a detox more than anything.  it's really easy to do during the work week because i can bring the soup to work, but during the weekends is a whole nother matter.  you can't just bring the soup around because there's no where to heat it up, and snacking is very difficult on some days.  just be sure to not have any occassions come up during that time and it works out easier.  it's an interesting diet, and i really recommend it, again, for people who want to shed a couple of quick and easy pounds.  if anybody wants to try this diet and needs a 'buddy' to go thru it with them,
email me.  it's so much easier to do when you have a support system.  i was very lucky to have my mother help me out.

i can't believe that it is already monday.  weekends are way too short.
i also have an angerball story to tell, but i need to get some work done first.
angerball story will be told tomorrow.

have a great day everyone!
