Happy Friday!
dana won tickets to watch red dragon last night at amc 1000 van ness but didn't want to go so she gave the tickets to me and parkin.  i left work a bit early and luckily found great parking along van ness and sat in line at around 5:20pm for the 7:30 show.  it was so early, i thought, but already there was a line and it continued after me inside the theater that tangled outside to the side of the building.  it was expected tho, i mean, it was for red dragon.  i was really happy cuz it looked like i had a very good spot in line, but as the minutes ticked away, the line of people expanded as the friends of the ppl in line started to arrive.  my hopes of sitting in the middle center vanished and knew that i would have to resort to the semi-crap seats closer to the front.

ivy and oli arrived around 6 and brought hot dogs from costco, yummy.  parkin finally arrived soon after them with cookies.  parkin and i also decided to indulge in some popcorn chicken, fries, and fried tofu at the little vendor inside the theater's restaurant, then ivy and oli also got some popcorn, drinks, and icee at the popcorn stand right before the movie started.  man, we were all pretty sick of food by the beginning of the movie.  haha.

i watched silence of the lambs when i was younger and enjoyed it. last year i watched hannibal and hated it it.  when i saw the previews for red dragon and saw that ed norton and ralph fiennes were starring along side anthony hopkins, i knew that it was a movie i didn't want to miss.  but i was scared.  the movie ended up being a really great thriller that i thoroughly enjoyed and feared.  at the parts i knew were going to freak me out, i covered my eyes with my hands, but opened my fingers and peeked out.  yeah, i'm a wimp.  anthony hopkins is an amazing actor, he just has this air about him, his eyes are so patronizing and his voice gives me chills.  good movie, go out and watch it. *thanks for the tickets d*  i might watch
sweet home alabama this weekend and next wednesday parkin won tickets to watch rules of attraction.  yay!  i love free movies.

i just realized this morning that the san diego film festival is showing our short film
dai fu blues! (for info please call: 619.291.7040)  the festival started yesterday, october 3 and will finish it's round on sunday, the 6th.  if anyone is around the san diego area this weekend, please go out there and support my first indie film.  and if you do and end up picking up some sort of program, (supposidly i have a little bio in it) if you can, i'd really appreciate it if you picked one up for me! email me for my address.  THANKS!
