this morning, selina and i drove down to san jose to have lunch with peg and ashlyn at 369 in milpitas where we also met up with cin, matty, and wil, then head over to david's bridal to find me a damn gown.  i was hoping that we'd find something good and cheap, but no such luck.  the service was horrible.  even tho i was a walk in, i understood that they were busy, but the woman that helped me... i shouldn't even say helped... the consultant who was assigned to me was never to be seen.  peg and sel were super helpful and even the woman on the couch offered more words to me than the consultant.  needless to say, i did not find a dress to ooh or ahh over.  do any of you women readers out there wear your rings 24/7?  do you insure your engagement or wedding rings?  when i was at david's bridal, the mother of one of the brides there was shocked that i didn't insure mine.  she was flabergasted to learn that i don't wear my ring to sleep. woman:  oh honey, that's a beautiful ring. me:  oh thank you!  i love it. woman:  is it heavy?  it looks heavy. me:  i think it's a good weight.  i like it a bit heavy so that i know i have it on, or forget to put it on in the morning.  i can feel the shift in weight. woman:  what?!  you don't wear your ring all the time?  when do you take it off? me:  i take it off at night before i sleep and put it back on in the mornings after i shower.  i don't wear my ring in the shower. woman:  oh honey, you have to wear your ring all the time!  why don't you wear it to sleep? me:  i don't know.  i'll probably scratch my face with it. woman:  you scratch yourself once and you'll never do it again.  you have to wear your ring all the time!  a ring like that, all the time.  is it insured? me:  no woman: (she's looking at me like i'm an idiot now)  YOU HAVE TO GET A RING LIKE THAT INSURED!  you dont' know what can happen!  you need to wear the ring all the time AND get it insured.  me:  oh.  ok. does anybody have any information concerning this matter?  do you all wear your rings all the time?  did y'all insure your rings?  married or engaged women?  i'd love some feedback, thanks. after david's bridal, peg, ashlyn and i head over to wil and tony's house for ashlyn's pre-birfday party.  aaron and oli prepared some kickass jambalaya with sausages and scrimp.  mmm, my mouth was burning hot.  yum.  a couple of pics from tonight courtesy of parkin's camera.

ashlyn got dirty after the cake so wil and ivy bathed her while peg drove home to get her a change of clothes.  ashlyn was crying tho, during her bath and afterwards.  wil and i tried to sooth her with claps and whistles.  we weren't teletubbies, but chinese teRRetubbies *flashing peace signs* and she quieted down and watched us make foolios of ourselves.  i'm glad we could entertain you little girl.  ;)
