no dress, no love. i just got back from the bridal image on 6th street in san francisco. i looked high and lo for the dress i like or something similar, but no such luck for me today. i left work around 11:30 to head over to burlingame for a blood test, gave my two viles, (cost me over $300!!!!) went home to pick up mail and pay some bills, head over to my parent's store to say hi but no one was there, stopped by taco bell for a bite to eat, then head over to the gown store. it was EMPTY when i arrives, so i thought that i would get the saleswoman's undivided attention, but alas, she had other things to attend to. oh well. i went through the racks and picked out some gowns. i helped myself in the dressing room, i didnt' mind, but i couldnt' reach the zipper. hehe. unfortunately there was only one of the 4 that i liked. i noticed a stairwell going to a discount area upstairs so i head up there. eh? how come my saleslady is up here? how come my saleslady isn't helping me? strange. when she saw me, she told me that all the dresses up here were 40% off and when i started looking at the dresses in the size 8 row, she looked at me and said, "no, look at the size 12 aisle" HMPH! i told her that all the other dresses i'd tried on were sizes 8 and 10 and she replied, "and you're sure they fit alright?" then she eyed me up and down. yes, they were fine, i replied and i walked towards the size 10 gowns. i ended up finding a dress that i kinda liked, very different from the others i've tried on before. unfortunately because it was on sale, there was only a 24 hour hold. oh well. maybe i'll drag one of my girls to go to the store with me some other time. there were a bunch of bridesmaids dresses too. i just got really tired of looking after an hour and a half, so i left and walked across the street. cindy emailed me earlier and suggested i stop by fantasticos to get some favor ideas. i already ordered our favors, but fantasticos had a GREAT selection of knick knacks like ribbons, wrappings, and other little trinkets i know i'll need for the wedding. as soon as we find bridesmaids dresses, i'll know what the color theme of our wedding will be, then i can go back to fantasticos to pick up some colored ribbons and such. the prices were really great there. *thanks for the suggestion cin!* ~ friday five 1. what is your favorite scary movie? i hate scary movies, so i have none. one of my childhood freakouts was nightmare on elm street. one, two, freddy's coming for you... 2. what is your favorite halloween treat? what's NOT my favorite halloween treat!? mmm, smarties, skittles, bottlecaps, snickers, kit kats, pez..., especially STAR WARS PEZ. *ahem, evil...* 3. do you dress up for halloween? if so describe your best halloween costume. i dont' dress up for halloween anymore, but when i was younger, my best costume was one that my dad made me one year. he made me an ice cream cone with a cherry hat. :) i loved that costume. my dad was so creative. 4. do you enjoy going to haunted houses or other spooky events? no, not so much. i hate being scared. i'm a fraidy cat. *meow* the last time i went to one of those fright fests, the guy i went with screamed louder than me, which freaked me out even more! 5. will you dress up for halloween this year? no ~ now i'm going to relax for awhile before parkin comes home. ahh, i love alone time. maybe i'll watch monsters, inc. and work on wedding stuff... after i watch pokemon. :) have a great weekend everyone! ~ |
