yesterday was a long day. parkin and i had hoped to wake up early and have breakfast in chinatown for some bacon, waffles, and macaroni noodles, but got up in time to head over to japantown for our appointment with our photographer, john louie. luckily he was a bit late so parkin and i had time to grab a bite at a little coffee shop inside the j-town square. i had some corn beef hash and eggs and parkin opted for some yummy curry chicken over rice.
full and happy, we met up with john and he showed us an awesome slide show on his laptop, we looked over some albums he had put together for previous clients and we went over the timeline of our wedding day. we then went over our packages, and john gave us a fat discount and free engagement sitting. he knows that we are taking photos in hk already, but still offered to take additional pictures. *sweet* so anyhow, i put a deposit down and now we are definately set for photography.
parkin and i walked around for a bit before heading over to schuberts for our cake tasting. after selina's soiree on friday night, (pictures to come) after talking to ye all night about his new phone and palm pilot, parkin decided to look into buying the new sony ericson phone, i think the same one that peg just got but isn't using yet. ;) so we went to good guys where they're having a great deal right now, but there were some complications after checking out different phone stores, so parkin is still debating.
cake tasting was yummers! we tried 4 different cakes and loved em, but haven't committed just yet because we still have time to have some more tastings. hehe. after cake tasting we confirmed plans during the night to meet up with friends for dinner then went back to parkin's house for me to take a 10 minute power nap and for him to research his phone online. *nerd*
after a yummy dinner at kirin in berkeley, *happy berday oli, again* a group of us head over to the movie theaters in emeryville to pick a flick to watch. emails over the past couple of days debated over 'punch drunk love' or 'the ring'. of course i chose punch drunk love because i HATE horror movies, so aaron, wil, tony, wing, matt and i head over to watch adam sandler where as parkin, ivy, oli, and cindy watched 'the ring'. oh my god, what a horribly scary movie punch drunk love is! you leave the theater saying, wtf? how is this movie critically acclaimed? how is this an acting accomplishment for adam sandler? wtf? it was horrible, don't watch it unless you want to leave the theater saying, wtf? i guess there were suppose to be symbolism and great camera skills, but it just looked like a mess to me where NOTHING tied in with anything. to cleanse our pallets a bit, we watched the last bit of 'jackass' before it let out. gross stuff man, gross stuff.
we went back to cin and matty's place to wait for the rest of the guys and watched some bits from saturday night live and it was HORRIBLE. *sigh* our nightmare just wasn't ending with watching horrible movies and shows.
as soon as cindy walked in, she walked in with heebie jeebies. i am so glad that i didn't watch 'the ring' because it was obvious from cindy, ivy, and oli's reactions that i would not survive that movie. parkin on the other hand looked like he wasn't fazed at all by what he saw but assured me that i would not be able to handle the movie. they all started to tell the storyline to matt and wil while aaron and i tried to tune them out by munching on some yummy guacamole, cheese 'n chips and talking about anything and everything. wing had already seen the movie so excitedly talked bout the movie as well. parkin non chalantly flipped thru a magazine and i tried my hardest not to hear bits and pieces of the ring, but wing kept wanting to talk about it!!! "do you still see visions of the girl?" "didn't it scare you when..." "oh and what about that closet scene?" he just wouldn't stop so i plugged my ears and hummed to myself. i guess there's some freaky girl with hair over her face, so he pulled wil's hair over her face and she walked towards him. he said she really looked like the freaky girl. then they all looked over to me said that with my long hair, minus the red tips, would look even more like the freaky girl, and prodded me to do it. i wasn't sure if i wanted to because i didn't want to freak myself out knowing that i could, but figured i can't really see, so i did and i think i scared wing. hehe. i couldn't see thru my hair to see his reaction, but i felt wing trying to push me away while i was walking towards him. *muahahaha. i so evil* so wing, if i hear you talking about the friggin movie again, i'm comin at you with my hair over my face and white robe!!!
aaron and i both agreed that even tho we suffered thru punch drunk love, if given the chance to choose again, we would DEFINATELY not watch 'the ring'. also if anyone send me any sorts of emails with attachments, i will NOT be opening them, thanks. :D
anyways, i am really tired. i think that it's going to be a lazy day with parkin today. we have a bunch of tv shows from this past week to watch. he's prolly waiting for me right now. hope you all had a great weekend!
