i felt horrible this morning. my body ached and my cough was getting worse. i popped two cotalins as soon as i could wake myself up and we got ready for our day. we had lunch at a nearby restaurant called friends. this ended up being our favorite place to have breakfast or lunch. it's similar to ABC cafe's foods. meals were simple, cheap, and tasty. we wanted very badly to have some good chinese food, but uh, we didnt' know where to go and didn't know how to read the menus. :( no complaints tho, hk food still tastes better. hehe. this meal was only $8 altogether for the both of us!

after lunch we head over to the marimar mall to walk around. there we found a glasses store. parkin went to hong kong with intentions to get cool hk glasses. he's always thought that he had 20/20 vision but i knew it wasn't that good. found out one eyeball is .75 and the other 1.0. haha. not horrible, but not great. the eye guy was really cool and gave him a good price, but said that if i got glasses too, he'd lower the price even more. that's hong kong for ya! so i ended up picking up a pair as well, for parkin's sake. hehe. we head over to NOEL CHU afterwards for our fitting. the people there were very nice and helpful. the dresses, of course did not fit me, but they adjusted it in the back and you could not tell. the one thing i noticed tho was where they placed padding for boobies in the dresses. the padding is very thick, pointy and very close together? made me think... are my boobies place far apart from each other on my body? hmmm... |

the fitting took about 2 and a half hours. i felt like julia roberts in pretty woman, it was pretty fun trying on various styles of dresses, but i didn't feel very pretty. none of the dresses really stood out to me. i was to chose one wedding gown and another dress. i couldn't decide between two of the wedding gowns tho, so noel chu herself let me wear both of them. i then chose another gown to wear and parkin picked out a couple of tuxedo suits. he looked handsome. :) went back to the hotel to rest a bit. i was feeling really crappy and tired, sniffly and coughing. while i napped for a bit, parkin mapped our evening. we decided to hit one of the nightmarkets on temple street. at the mouth of the nightmarket, we found a hole in the wall restaurant for $10HKD wonton mein. it was YUMMY! so much better than the first day's $22HKD bowl. we had a satisfying dinner of soup noodles, wonton, and gai lan (green veggies) for less than $3.50! yum, i love wonton mein. so we walked the tents of temple street where they sold everything from hair clips, lighters, vcd's, dvd's, t-shirts, to handbags, jewelery, toys, radios, shoes, and so much more. hella porn too. at the end of one of the streets, there was man selling puppies on the corner out of a cage to the highest bidder! they were so cute, but it was so wrong to see that. poor puppies. i ran out of cotalin, so i got more and told parkin to take some before he went to sleep. the suckiest thing about being sick was not being able to kiss parkin. :( oh wait, maybe the suckiest thing was not being able to share food. haha, yeah, that was worse. |

above: notice the tiny phone! it was just a little bit smaller than the length of my pointer finger. and see my flipped over engagement ring. whenever we went shopping on the streets, i hid my diamond away from the local theives. plus the ring shown would likely lessen my bargaining attempts.
above: parkin's heaven, phone stores everywhere we went. he loved looking at the merchandise, especially phones we didn't have here in the US.
