there aren't many people that i still talk to from high school, just a handful. last night i had a wonderful dinner with 2 friends i went to school with, susy and tyrone. actually, i started attending school with them when we were in 3rd grade at millbrae school so we aren't just high school friends, more like gradeschool friends. we followed each other to meadows, taylor, and then mills. ty even followed me to sjsu for a year or so! hehe, i say followed because i left high school a semester early to start my colleging. :) tyrone treated us to scrumptous dinner at speido, and cute little italian restaurant in san mateo. susy moved to arizona 2 years ago and came home for a friend's wedding this past weekend and will be here til sunday. tyrone is around the bay area still, but we only get to see each other every couple of months. but this time was special because we haven't seen susy in a long time since she's moved. it was a nice dinner and conversation until this older man yelled, "CAN YOU ALL SHUT UP! IT'S TOO NOISY IN HERE" well, he said something to that extent, i don't remember his exact words. the restaurant was filled with lots of people, so naturally conversation would also be a bit loud. poor man prolly just wanted to take his wife out for a nice quiet dinner, instead, it sounded like he was in a mcdonalds. haha. it was great seeing my friends last night. as always, we talked about the people we hated or loved in high school. we were all part of different groups... well at least susy was. ty and i were both somewhat loners hiding in the corners of the hallways. haha. what was cool about our conversations was that our memories went all the way down to the 3rd grade. i think that we were all pretty close until high school where we kind of seperated and ended up taking different classes at different times, making friends with different people. for the life of us, we couldnt' remember if we even had classes together in high school. maybe 2 of us, but never the 3 of us together. then we talked about who was doing what now and such. finally conversation ended as talked about going to our 10 year reunion or not and we all agreed that we don't really care how everyone is doing, how successful or not they've become, but we want to see how everybody looks, to see how much or little they've changed. ty didn't care too much bout that tho. :) i find it interesting thinking back to high school days. how we all changed, how we adjusted to intermediate or high school in different ways, what we deemed important at those times, how we interacted with each others, the relationships we made. how trusting we were. i want to get into more, but my head is blowing up with memories i would much rather forget. i was quite tired after dinner. when i got back to parkin's house, i decorated a bit with some holiday ornaments, watched south park and went to bed. i fell asleep while parkin watched twilight zone. he said i snored. teehee. musta been super tired! unfortunately his loud snorts woke me up at 5:30am. i shook the bed, poked him, held his hand, pushed him... i tried everything, but he would not stop. luckily sleep was still able to take a hold of me for another hour or so. it's such a sunny day today. i wish i wasn't stuck here in the office. big thanks to DAN for a great xmas gift idea for my brother! have a great day, ya hear! ~ |
