happy friday!
it's a bit chilly, but the sun's out and warm.... wait a minute *looks out the window*... damn.  it's gone.  well it was nice while it lasted.

last night was spent feasting with friends at bucca de beppo for a holiday dinner.
gat damn there was a lot of food.  calamari, salad, seafood pasta, eggplant parmesan, huge raviolis, garlic escarole, green beans, mashed taters, chicken marsala, spicey sausage and mushroom pizza... did i forget anything?  it was goooood.  i hadn't been there for a long time and everything was very tasty.  peg and ashlyn came into town yesterday too, so it was a delight to see them both, though ashlyn was a bit clingy.  she was very entertaining with her "cold" face, hitting it on demand.  it was so cute.  we also sang happy birthday (?!) to matty as a congrats for finishing up some courses.  is that why there haven't been updates on your site? :) busy guy, congrats matt!

after dinner, we all hung around the table shooting the sh!t.  mayu, aaron, and ivy all got new cell phones so almost everyone busted out their own phones and dilly dallied with em, beaming each other info and other little pictures.  while others chit and some chat, everyone had a chance catch up and play with the baby.  as we started to leave, wing stopped by after a holiday dinner with his own family and spread some holiday cheer.  finally we left the restaurant, and as some left for their treks back home, a few of us head over to a little fountain shop for some dessert.  we shot the sh!t for a little while longer then head home.  what took us 55 minutes to drive to palo alto, only took 22 minutes to get back to san francisco.  ha!

we got back to parkin's house a bit after midnight, only an hour past my bedtime!  hehe.  parkin and i  cleaned up then i convinced him to call the NOEL CHU studio in hong kong to have them rush our photos.  i was hoping they could finish up with our pictures by the end of this month for pick up in january, but the woman parkin spoke to said that he would have to call back on january 25.  they may be ready, but they may not be.  :/  but they would try to rush it.  *crossing fingers*  i regret not arguing it more when we were there.  oh well.

i had a great time last night, thanks for planning wil and friends!

parkin and i are still talking about butterfly cakes.  yes, sugar bowl is good and cheaper, but butterfly is tastier and inventive.  sugar bowl won't charge for delivery.  butterfly charges, but they will set up the cake, where as sugar bowl won't.  (*oop, just started raining!*)  sugar bowl doesn't have the stands we need, so they would charge us to purchase the equipment.  what we would do with them afterwards?  i have no clue.  you know what i'm going to do?  i'm going to talk to sonya from butterfly cakes and see if there's any way to cut the cost of the cake without compromising the presentation cake.  hopefully we can figure something out.  if not, then we'll have to say no because it's just not within our budget.  it's like the whole chandler/monica situation when monica wanted the big bang wedding, and chandler wanted to save for the future.  parkin and i both want the butterfly cake but we know we need to save for a house.  (*oop, the sun's come out again! but it's still raining!*)

lots of stuff going on this weekend.  bday parties, wedding stuff, other holiday parties with different groups of friends, the two towers... i can't wait.  have a good one ya'll.  be save out there and have fun!
