what a tiring weekend.  ready to read?
friday night was spent preparing and planning the weekend.  we decided to make some save the date cards for our wedding next year.  i saw a cute card in one of my wedding mags, and i thought that it would be easy enough to make... thinking i could finish them in a night.  more like three... at least 3-4 hours a night.  crazy.  so friday night after work, i went to a craft store and bought some of the materials i needed.  we had dinner at home, worked on the cards for a little while, then went to my brother's house to hang out for a bit.  on the way over, we stopped off at krispie kream. 6 for us and 6 for gau2.  made us feel less guilty about getting a whole dozen.  we had intended to pick up the extended version of lotr, drop off the doughnuts and go, but it was nice to hang out with my brother and selina again, so we ended up staying for about an hour or so.  once we got home, we continued working on the cards til about 2.

the next morning, (saturday) we got up early for an appointment at macy's at stonestown for our bridal registry.  we spent a good 3 hours at macy's (it's hard deciding on what to register for!) then another 2 at the mall doing some last minute xmas shopping and eating.  it was packed at the mall but it wasn't too bad.  also, there were some good sales 'round.  parkin's friend jason (groomsman) met up with us at macy's and we walked around for a bit with him then we walked to my car.  parkin got some dvd's at china for him, so he gave them to jason and we were on our way.  parkin was really tired, we both were, but i didn't want to go back and sleep, so we went to ranch 99 and picked up a few things.  then we went to target and aaron brothers at serramanilla to pick up some more things.  finally went home to prepare a dinner of macaroni in broth, like the kinds they make at abc restaurants.  it was soothing and warm in our bellies.  we were suppose to go to a friend's bday celebration, but were too pooped so we called and cancelled.  we watched lilo & stitch during dinner, then we worked on the cards again on the computer.  as soon as we printed, we went to the living room to glue, stick, paste, and cut.  all the whiles, watching the extended version of lord of the rings; the fellowship of the ring.  if you haven't seen the extended version, you must see it.  it's really good, explains a lot.  by the time the movie ended, parkin and i were at the second to last step of the making of the cards.  but it was already past 2am, and we were ready to retire.

sunday morning we got up early again to make a trek to the new theater and mall in emeryville to watch lord of the rings; the two towers.  yeah, baby.  orlando bloom, yum.  it was a long movie... but i wanted it to continue.  i was sad to see it end but it was cool to talk to parkin about it afterwards because he explained things to me that i didnt' yet understand.  he actually spent the hours reading the confusing book a couple of years ago.  afterwards, we walked around the new center and explored.  it was really cool out there!  maybe i should get a new job working at the amc! :)  we went to gap where parkin bought a nice holiday sweater, then i went to victoria secret cuz i had a $10 coupon from them for my birthday.  i was SOOOO happy to find my favorite bra there!  let me back track a bit.
the afternoon we left for our
hong kong trip, we did a couple of loads of laundry.  i didnt' have my laundry bag, a little bag for my lingerie, so i just dumped my bra in the wash.  when i went to get the clothes out of the dryer, i picked out one cup of my bra.  HUH!?  *NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!*  this was my favorite bra and i did not want to travel without it.  i looked all round for the other cup, and it was no where to be seen.  i looked in the dryer and there it was.  stuck in the hole of the air vent, i guess the back clasp got stuck and as the laundry twirled around, the bra ripped in half.  i almost cried.  i looked at the cup and thought that maybe i could salvage it, sew it back together, but the underwire was mangled.  *sigh*  i rushed to victoria secret to purchase it for the trip, but when i talked to the saleswoman, she said that that specific bra  was discontinued!  *NOOOOOO*  i was disheartened with the loss.  i couldn't even get myself to thow the cups away.   so yesterday when i went to look for a replacement, i found not only one, but two colors of my favorite bra!!!  black AND white.  i wanted a racier color, like red, but beggars can't be choosers!  hm.. that doesn't make sense.  anyhoo i purchased both and left victoria's secret a happy woman.  i smiled all the way home.

parkin napped when we got home, but i watched iron chef and finished with the save the date cards.  we had a holiday dinner to attend, so got ready for it and out of the house by 6:30.  we met up with friends at luna bar in sf.  it was yummy, but my fish and veggies were a bit salty.  we also participated in a white elephant gift exchange, it was so funny and a lot of fun.  we gifted lord of the ring; fellowship, the extended version.  everyone thought it was a box of see's candy because of the box so it was the last to be taken.  because we were one of the last to choose, and our gift and a george foreman grill were the only 2 left, (we already have a grill) we stole some lotto tickets.  i felt guilty about the steal... but i apologized and explained the situation to diana after the game and she understood.  hehe.

after dinner, the gang went to have drinks, but parkin and i went home.  we still had to go over our guest list and think about who we wanted to send s-t-d (haha) cards to.  we made a limited amount and wanted to send them to close friends and family.  we bumped a few people to LIST B :(, and moved some up to A :).  we also added additions to list B, or at least i did.  i've made a couple of good friends this year, so i wanted to put them on the list.  but the s-t-d cards are for the definates.  i think that we'll have em out by january...
does anyone know where i can purchase sheet magnets?
please email me, thanks.
