HI EVERYONE!!  *waves*
i hope you all had a great xmas, i sure did.  the day was spent with family and friends, it felt nice to be among family again.  thank you to all who sent xmas cards and holiday wishes.  parkin and i have a nice stack of cards around the fireplace and seeing them totally put me in the holiday spirit.  thanks.

yesterday, after working a bit and delivering gifts to my nieces, i had the opportunity to have lunch with
peg of pegpower.com, ashlyn, aric, wil, tony and mr swank condo himself, sonny!  we all met in fremont's 369 shanghai cafe and had some good eats.  after corresponding with sonny via chats for the past couple of months, it felt like i've known him for a long time already so it was quite comfortable, even tho this was the first, no second time we've met.  great guy.

after lunch, sonny and tony had to head back to work.  the rest of us head over to valley fair for some after christmas shopping.  it was madness at the mall.  i saw a pair of boots i liked at nine west, but they didnt' have my size.  saw another pair of similar boots at nordstrom, but they didn't have my size either.  sucks having size 6 and a half feet, there is always a limited amount.  but then again, who am i trying to find a kick ass pair of boots during the after xmas sale at 5pm at night.  people who get there early in that morning deserve em more than my lazy ars.

wing and betty met us in the evening at we had dinner at the cheesecake factory.  damn, i haven't been there in ages, and i've forgotten how huge their menu is!  too much to choose from.  then after dinner, wing, peg, aric, ashlyn, wil, and i head over to target for some more after xmas shopping fun.  all xmas stuff was 50% off so it was cool.  i got some candles, gift wrap, ribbons, stockings, and xmas cards for next year and a large storage bin for all my xmas things and wrappings.  by the time we finished, target was closing and we head our seperate ways home.

the drive wasnt' horrendously long, but halfway back to the city i wondered how i did it back in college.  i use to commute and the drive use to be a breeze.  the drive last night took forevers!  all i could think about the whole way back was falling asleep in a nice warm and comfy bed in my new pajamas. :)

i have had this tooth/gum ache for the past couple of days.  i didn't worry much about it last week when it started because those things just come and go.  unfortunately this time, it wasn't going and as the days passed, it started hurting more.  i thought it was just that my wisdom teeth were growing, but chatting with
lan about it on tuesday made me a bit nervous.  she suggested i get it checked, so i called my dentist on xmas eve, but the offices were closed. *doh!*  luckily my cousin in law is a dentist so i called in for some advice, feeling horrible for asking for free advice... on christmas eve.  i told him my symtoms, that the tooth was hurting before, but not so much now, but the gum around it is really painful and my cheek back there is a bit poofy.  he said i have an infection.  *ack!* and *ouch!*  that totally sucks.  he asked me if i have insurance, i said no.  he said something about doing some sort of surgery when i do get some benefits cuz it's really expensive, but in the meantime, take some advil for the pain.  i'll be a very grouchy girl for the next few days.

it's been 4 days, and the pain has yet to go away.  i've been taking some penicillin, but will be on it for another 3 days, hoping that it will heal.  been popping 2 ibprofens every 4 hours or so, it helps but not entirely.  after i got back last night, i looked at the bottle of ibprofen and it says not to take more than 6 tablets in 24 hours.  *doh!*  i had at least 9 yesterday.

wahine, you rock!

we got another proposal from the cake baker that parkin and i like.  it looks good, a bit cheaper, so parkin and i will discuss it tonight.

tonight, parkin are hosting a white elephant holiday party.  we've had friends over for dinner and such, but this will be our first "party" to throw.  we have SO much to do before our guests arrive.  i meant to get started with food preperations last night, but i hadn't planned on staying out in san jose that long.  not that i minded, but in the shower this morning, i remembered that i had originally planned to do some stuff the night before.  haha!  oh well.  i'm planning to leave work a little early again today.  i already told my boss.  i think he feels guilty about making me work on xmas eve when i was suppose to have it off, so he was fine about it.  i was hoping to meet my friends for lunch this afternoon too, but they planned to meet earlier than i could even get off work, so *boo*.  so i still need to wrap my gift, cook, clean, and even shop for food!  *ack!*  it's gonna be crazy today... hm, what should i wear tonight?  :)

tomorrow night is our food tasting at the rincon center.  a food tasting for chinese food at a chinese restaurant?  that sounds a bit odd doesn't it?  it is, but yang sing is giving us a taste of the meal we choose.  if we dont like certain dishes, then we'll change the menu around to our liking.  this meal is for a table of 10... for free.  all we have to pay for is tax and tip.  the menu itself costs over $400.  we have one extra seat since parkin's brother isn't in town.  hmm, who to ask.  or maybe just more food for the rest of us!

since candles are supposidly bad luck to have placed on the tables during the banquet, i've been dilly dallying with ideas for centerpieces that will be low cost and not a vase of flowers.  i'm thinking about just scattering some rose petals around ... and if i can find some flat rocks with chinese words like 'harmony' or 'love' ... maybe a paper lantern in the middle... i'll have to think more about it.  let the creative juices flow... but dont' steal my idea, those of you getting married next year!  unless you are miles and miles away, then it's all good.  hehe.  married people out there,
what did you have as centerpieces?

i was a bit disappointed this morning.  since i left early last night, i left the office to kevin.  i told him to stay in the office and answer the phones.  (i already ran it by my boss so it was ok)  this morning, i found out that he left early!  and he left uncle wong (our warehouse guy) to answer the phones!  uncle wong doesnt' speak english!  *sigh*  kevin didnt' come to work today because his car was broken into and he had to get his window fixed.  i called him and reprimanded him.  i was so disappointed.  *sigh*  it wasn't a smart thing to do, and i thought he knew better.  that's one strike.

here's to a fun and safe weekend.
stay dry y'all!  i think it's gonna storm this weekend, well that's what the weather man says.
