parkin's brother - park, and park's best friend - norman have been lion dancing since they were little tikes. norman is also my coworker at lomark. since park is parkin's best man, we weren't sure if we wanted him to perform and get all sweaty, tho the both of them offered. norm and park also performed at my boss's wedding which was also at the rincon center. we didn't want to 'copy' them, but after talking to park and norm about it, they both wanted to perform as gift to us at our wedding. how could we say no?
just yesterday, we confirmed the plans.
norman told me that he bought new lion heads a couple of months ago for their group but haven't used them yet because he wanted to 'wake' them up at our wedding. actually, parkin and i would be 'waking' them up. our wedding will be the first performance for this new lion head which means that before they perform, parkin and i get to draw dots in the eyes and mouth of the lion to awaken the lion!
