Here be Dragons!

There are many legends and stories of dragons, featuring man eating creatures of pure evil, to gentle vegetarians, to familiars the size of small dogs.

The stories twine with those of Elves and Fairies, Giants, Monsters, and other mythical creatures.

Europeans viewed Dragons as pure evil, the embodiment of every human failing; the Asians as freindly creatures, symbols of good luck and wealth. Midevil legends portray dragons as misers, hoarding vast amounts of wealth. If you could vanquish the dragon, you gained all the wealth he left behind on his death.

And they eat Princesses in most stories. Why, i have no idea, since anything predatory enough to eat another sentient creature shouldn't have the discriminatory abilities to differentiate between a Princess and any other human. Although Royalty may have been a little cleaner.... but i digress.

Dragons are sometimes portrayed as stupid, vicious, all around nasty creatures that hide in caves and attack people like rabid bears.

My personal point of view, is that they are sentient creatures, with morals and feelings not unlike any other person. There are good and evil Dragons, just as there are good and evil humans. I do believe that they are impetuous creatures, however.
