Back Story: Vena's ship crashed on the planet Talos IV, leaving her the sole survivor.

She was rescued and then treated by the inhabitants of the planet, a dying race of telepaths. Having no model on which to base their repairs, the Talosians botched the healing job on Vena, leaving her... damaged in appearance.
