*Sandrines, to be specific
.Wanna know why we think Vorik is a freak?
01. With the exception of Tuvok and Taurik, and Vulcan Females everywhere, every Vulcan name i have ever heard had started with an S. Where did the V come from?
02. He doesn't understand his own reproductive system! "I didn't know it could happen that way"?! shouldn't he have had that talk with his mommy by NOW?
03. Why is he so SHINY?
04. Tuvok, Spock, Sarek... they were all taller than the average human. Vorik is... shrimpy.
05. He picked the most emotional woman on the ship as a potential mate! What kind of a normal Vulcan would subject himself to that kind of emotional onslaught every day on PURPOSE?
06. During the Pon Farr, Vulcans experience an intense desire to return to Vulcan. Vorik evidenced no such desire. My conclusion: he was faking it.
07. He half-smiles all the time!
08. The was he enunciated certain words is indicative of an emotional response. Vulcans aren't supposed to do that.
And now for something completely different... well.... maybe not completely... anyway, enjoy!
The Death of Ensign Vorik
Forward
Personally, i like Vorik. He's not a good actor, really, and his character is iffy, but there's something about him that i like.
Maybe it's just the fact that my sister hates him and i don't want to agree with her. I dunno. Anyway, she made- (Oh, sorry. She suggested strongly)- me do it. I didn't want to kill him. I was fine with the limericks. But not her. oooooo noooooo! she had to kill him!
But, alas, just read the poorly written, non-plausible story about the irritating Vulcan Ensign that works in engineering. And enjoy it you SADISTIC PEOPLE!!!
S.C.
This story is poorly written and unrealistic. It's only purpose was to suit my older sister's sadistic need to kill Ensign Vorik.
Ensign Vorik paced the floor in engineering, anticipating the arrival of Lieutenant B'Elanna Torres, the chief engineer. Her duty shift started as his ended, and he couldn't leave until she got there. When Voyager shook and the red alert klaxon blasted into his sensitive Vulcan ears, he immediately forgot about her and set to work.
He barely heard the doors swish open. Out of the corner of his eye he saw Torres rush into the room, the jacket of her uniform unzipped. She ran to the warp core, making sure it was off-line before she did anything else. "Lieutenant?" Vorick asked, wondering what was going on. "Stupid Kazon," she muttered, shoving him out of the way. She quickly set to work on all the other things that had to be done to prevent Voyager from exploding.
"Bridge to Engineering," Janeway's voice came over the comm system. "I'ma a little busy right now," Torres shouted across the room to Vorik. "Answer that, Ensign!"
Vorik raised one eyebrow, but tapped his commbadge. "Engineering," he said.
"Transfer all available power to the phasers, Lieutenant."
Torres groaned unhappily and sprinted across the room, circling the warp core and darting past Vorik as if he wasn't even there. Voyager trembled beneath his feet.
Vorik watched out of the corner of his eye as Torres tapped her commbadge. "Engineering to Bridge." When there was no response, Vorik tried his own comunicator.
Again, no response. He looked at Torres, who indicated that he should go figure out what happened. Sprinting from the engine room, he was twelve decks above an the bridge within two minutes. The moment he stepped onto it, he knew it was a mistake.
The Kazon Maje stood over Captain Janeway, who lay unconscious at his feet. Commander Chakotay, Tom Pairs, Harry Kim, and Tuvok all lay, also unconscious, near their assigned stations. "This ship is ours!" The Maje insisted. He looked to one of his associates. The one standing near Kim. "Take them to wherever Janeway keeps her prisoners. The Brig," he ordered.
Vorik tried to fight as he was dragged off the bridge, but he was powerless against his captors. Being an idiot, he hadn't aken a phaser when he left engineering, and if he tried to break free, his arms would surely be broken. He watched as more Kazon warriors materialized on the bridge and pulled the rest of the command crew from into the turbolift.
Within hours, the entire crew had been confined somewhere. The mess hall, the brig, sickbay... somewhere. The Kazon didn't trust them enough to confine them to the engine room. Vorik blamed himself. If only he had taken a phaser with him to the bridge, he could have fought back, taken control of the bridge, and none of this would be happening.
He paced the small space, trying not to run into Commander Chakotay or Ensign Kim, who were also pacing.
"Well," said Ensign Kim, "We're still going at full warp. I don't know where the Kazon are taking us, but i think we should assume it isn't a friendly, hospitable place."
"If we could get to Engineering, Vorik offered, "We could cut impulse power easily. And then eject the Warp Core. The ship would be 'dead in the water', so to speak. Then we could retake the ship." Being a Vulcan, he didn't get excited.
"They'd just use a tractor beam," Chakotay countered, rubbing his chin
"What makes you think they've figured out how to use it?" Paris asked from his seat in a corner of the small space. "You're forgetting how incredibly stupid the Kazon are. They'd never have figured out Voyager's systems this quickly.
Paris rose and stood next to the other men. Vorik looked at the Brig monitoring station only a few meters away. There was no-one guarding it, but the force-field was on. "If captain Janeway would wake up," he murmurred.
"I'm awake, what do you need, Ensign?" Janeway asked from behind him. She pulled herself into a sitting position and touched the knot on her head gingerly.
"How about getting us out of here, Kathryn?" Chakotay asked, stepping closer to her. "You've got the command codes..." he pointed out.
"Computer," Janeway said commandingly. "Release force-feild around the Brig. Authorization Janeway Alpha One." The computer chirped in reply, and the force-feild dissapeared. "Well. That was easy," she said with a shrug, stepping out into the security area.
"Engineering," Chakotay ordered, pointing to Kim and Vorik. "Bridge?" he suggested to everyone else, who quickly followed him away.
Vorik attempted no conversation with Ensign Kim on the way to engineering, nor did he speak unessesarily while the process was under way. It was only a matter of minutes before the impulse engines were off-line. "I can't cut the warp power," Kim announced. "They've locked me out somehow."
"Dump it," Vorik replied simply. It had been part of the initial plan, hadn't it?
Kim shrugged. "If you say so. But don't we need Torres? Actually, we need someone with Command codes." he ammended.
The doors hissed open and Chakotay stepped inside. "Our thoughts exactly," he said, smiling. "In all the excitement, we forgot that Ensigns can't dump the warp core. Sorry guys." He looked up at the ceiling. Computer," he asid quickly. "Prepare to dump the warp core. Clearance Chakotay Zeta Nine." The computer chirped in response. "Dump it when you're ready, gentlemen," Chakotay said, exiting.
Vorik looked at Kim, who shrugged.
"Ready when you are," Kim said. He had begun to leave when the red alert klaxons sounded. Turning to Vorik, he looked confused. "I think we waited too long or something!" he shouted over the noise. The alarms were always loudest in engineering.
They heard the hiss of air leaving the room, and the warp core slipped from it's containing systems. Kim bolted from the room. Vorik didn't.
"Where's Ensign Vorik?" Torres asked Kim as she was released from the mess hall. She shook off the messhall atmosphere with a shudder.
"He was ejected with the warp core," Kim replied simply.
"Oh. I'm going to have replace him." Torres said.
Kim shrugged. "Shall we go about reinstalling the warp core?" He suggested calmly. Torres grunted in reply and they set off for engineering.
1. If a Kazon ship was in view of Voyager, and it always is, the ship would be on red alert long before the attack was issued.
2. The Kazon don't have transport technology, and even if they did, they wouldn't be able to get through Voyager's shields.
3. Do you realize how hard it would be for three Kazon to take over the bridge?
4. Chakotay would never just leave Vorik and Kim by themselves, he would have stayed.
5. Torres would have answered the bridge herself.
6. No one is stupid enough not to take a phaser with them. And why didn't he get a security team anyway? (FD) why wasn't a security team already on it's way?
7. Kim would have made sure Vorik was out of engineering before leaving himself.
8. The red alert doesn't sound when the warp core is dumped.
9. The warp core won't eject itself.
10.You can't dump the warp core while it's still on-line. Engineering would explode or something.
11. A person cannot be dumped with the warp core. and there's no loss of atmosphere, since the warp core is self-contained, anyway. If it wasn't, the antimatter would blow up the universe.
12.Even the Kazon aren't stupid enough not to post guards.
13.(from Debb) if torres didn't answer the hail, the first thing Janeway would want to know would be "Where's Torres?"
14.(from Debb) use a tractor beam on what? they were all on the same ship!
15. (FD)I added the ending to this story, there wasn't one.
16. (FD)How did they squish 5 ppl into one cell (meant for one person) and still have room for three of them to pace simultaneously?
17. Vorik, being Vulcan, is probably stronger than his Kazon guards were.
18. (FD)Why is Chakotay ordering everyone around after they leave the brig? isn't that the captain's job?
19. (FD)What exactly was Vorik doing in engineering anyway? he didn't appear to be doing anything other than observing... in the middle of an emergency...
20. i'm done now....
As you can see, this story makes absolutely no sense, and very little of it is likely to happen in an actual episode. In fact, in star trek terms, most of it is impossible. But, 'enjoy', anyway, SADISTIC PEOPLE!

How about another poem?
Vorik was in engineering
when the Kazon attacked Voyager.
Giving them quite a spearing.
Vorik took the heat
For Voyager being beat
The stupid Kazon broke the ship
And Vorik had to fix it
The warp core was ejected...
WHOOPS!! Bye-bye Vorik.
