| THE ANGEL Once upon a time there was a child ready to be born, So, she asked God, "They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?" God replied, "Among the many angels, I chose one of you. She will be waiting for you and will take care of you." But the little child was still worried and asked, "Tell me, here in Heaven, for here I don't do anything else but sing and smile and that's enough for me to be happy!" "Not to worry," replied God, "...for your Angel will sing for you, also smile with you every day and you will feel your angel's warm love. You will be happy!" But the little child was still worried and followed with, "How am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me, if I don't know the language that men talk?" God then replied, "Don't worry my little child for your angel will teach you the most beautiful sweet words that you will ever hear spoken. She will also show much patience and care. Your Angel will teach you to speak." Now the child seemed less worried about her trip to earth but after a little time asked, "What am I going to do when I want to speak to you, God?" God then replied, "Your Angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray. This way wherever you are you can speak to me in prayer." The little child then held back a sob and said, "But God I will always be sad because I will not see you any more." "Not to worry my little child, for your angel will always talk to you about me and will teach you the way straight back to me, even though I will always be near you.....and you just have to call out for me." replied God. Now, the little child seem to be very still and asked,"One more thing, God, I've heard that on earth there are really bad men! Who will protect me?" God then answered, "Your angel will my child even if it means risking her life!" At that moment there came a very quiet peace in Heaven, but the voices on earth could now be heard and the little child then softly asked God, "Oh God, if I am now about to leave......please tell me my angel's name. Please, God I have to know." Then God answered with a smile on his face, my little child your angel's name is not important......but if you must know, you can call your Angel.....Mommy. And when you again awake you will be in the old Canal Zone, the year will be 1944....Have fun my little child and bye for now. -----Author Unknown |
