WEEK ELEVEN:
With the numbers dwindling and the time lagging on the remaining islanders were short of energy and some are beginning to act weirder than normal. Since Daisy left all the plant life has been dying. Fanny put mud on her face and ran around The Island with wilted roses. She says she is looking for the tugboat dock to go meet Nicky.
Esther has taken to the woods to save the trees from being chopped down for firewood. The others seem to agree on two things. First, they need firewood to cook the few fish they catch and second, not to let Yentl anywhere near fish and fire! Judy is kept away also, but for different reasons. Esther insists that raw fish is okay, “Tastes much better that way. The Japanese said so.”
Esther’s environmental tree quest inspired her to write a song she named “Evergreen”. Esther sang it morning noon and night, which caused a lot of friction (Claudia’s ears perked up) between her and the remaining characters. To commence (Katie said, “funny word for the end”) her newfound mission Esther gave a concert to raise awareness.
The concert consisted of Esther singing Evergreen in English, Spanish, French and Italian. While most were bored with the concert the brainwashing seemed to work on Claudia. She took to the stage to help Esther save the trees. "I can talk, dance, card tricks, juggle… what kinda show do I have to put on for you to get the trees a fair trial?" Claudia lectured the crowd.
In the end no show would be complete without a good finish. After this particular show The Island group decided Esther and Claudia were finished around there. They lit there sticks of firewood and held them up while they told Esther to Watch Closely Now as they voted her off The Island.
As for Claudia, she was given her walking orders in writing. It was just a piece of paper but as far as Claudia was concerned they couldn’t vote her off The Island no matter how many times they signed it. In her mind the group was just assholes with power. Yentl stepped in and witnessed where it was written. The guards stepped in and carried Claudia away kicking and screaming that she needs a lawyer! Maybe if she left on her knees she'd "be responsible". |
