Christmas

On a star-filled night
so very long ago,
To a town called Bethlehem
Mary and Joseph did go,

The room's were all taken
but a manger was found,
So Mary gave birth
upon the hard ground,

As soon as she saw Him
her heart started to sing,
Not realizing for a moment
that her son was her King,

A King that would save her
from hell and her sin,
That's the reason He was born
to die once for all men,

That sweet little babe
that we all have heard of,
Grew up one day
to show His grace and love

The greatest sacrifice ever made
was just for you and I,
And no one took His life away
He came prepared to die,

Through the mob they took Him
as He carried the cross,
Never once looking back
nor counting the cost,

He was struggling to stand
as He trod that steep hill,
Praying softly to His father
Lord, help me do thy will,

They mocked Him, they cursed Him
and spit in His face,
But He knew it was worth it
it was God's saving grace,

Now the people are cheering
as He's nailed upon the tree,
Little do they know the truth
He has set the captive's free,

So, Christmas isn't Santa Clause
nor present's, elves and such,
It is the birth of Jesus Christ,
* who love's us all so much *
