STAY AT WARM SPRINGS
My Stay at Warm Springs Rehabilitation Hospital
Hello, my name is Barbara. I'm also known as BarbTx to many.
I had back surgery in a San Antonio hospital for pinched nerves.
Something went wrong and after the surgery I was unable to
walk. They kept me there until I was stable enough to move.
I was then transfered to Gonzales Warm Springs because it
was fairly close to home. I spent two weeks there doing
intensive therapy. When I was released I was able to get
around using a walker. I then went back twice a week for
out-patient therapy. I did this for about two months, until
I was able to walk with two canes, then was released.
My husband Marv and I then joined a Physical Fitness center in
the nearest town of Gonzales. We go there three times per week.
I use the equipment that will build the muscles in my legs.
I am about ready to start using only one cane. Hopefully
someday I won't need a cane at all.
The nurses, therapists, and aides at Warm Springs were very
helpful and caring people. They are very friendly. Just
like one big happy family. I would like for you to meet some
of them, but first some pictures of the hospital and grounds.

Since we have been going to the fitness center "The Shape
Shoppe" in Gonzales, Memorial Hospital has bought them
and will move it closer to the hospital and it will be
known as Memorial Fitness Center. The fitness center
was formally owned by Angie Glass and her assistant
is Stacy. The next pictures are of Marv and Stacy
and Barb and Angie.
