Kandi
Oliver crossed the bridge 1/24/2003
I was just devestated about it for so many reasons.  I didn't have him a long
time, but he was a very special little guy who just wrapped his paws around
my heart immediately.  He was very regal and had a spot in the living room he
particularly liked.  Whenever he wanted anything, and I mean anything, he
barked until I came to wait on him, LOL.  My house is entirely too quiet now.
Even Boney liked him and that is extremely rare.  My Wally and Oliver slept
together, you couldn't tell where one started and the other stopped, and
Wally still looks for him. Linda K.

Linda was caring for Oliver while his mom Kandi,  is in a nursing home , till she feels better

Sam crossed the Rainbow bridge on December 26, 2002.  In 1998, he was an 8 year old male Boston Terrier who
found himself in need of a new home when his human  Mom (the only one he'd known) died and his human
Dad had to be placed into a nursing home.  The remaining family members weren't interested in keeping
Sam; their initial thought was to have him euthanized.   But, with the timely intervention of Boston Terrier Rescue,
Sam was saved.   By the time I entered the picture, Sam had been in 3 different homes.  He was scared and
confused about the frequent moves to strange  locations. When I met Sam for the first time, he had just
started showing signs of trust to the family that was  fostering him.  They, too, had grown attached.  But, Sam and I knew we were a match since the  minute we laid eyes on each other.  . Sam nestled beautifully  into life here with 3 other dogs and a cat.  He made a  tremendous adjustment and we adored each other. Before he got sick, he loved sleeping close to me and  took special pleasure in his toys, pool and big  rubber balls.  I loved him so very very much.
I hadn't had Sam for very long (less than a month)  when I took him visiting to my Mother's who was  caring for my Grandmother who was very ill.  She only lived a short while beyond that visit,  but I'll never forget what Sam did that night. My Grandmother was bedridden and fairly  unresponsive to human contact.  I talked to her as  I always had and lifted Sam up on her bed to show her my new addition.   Once Sammie reached her face and realized  she was a frail elderly woman, he kissed her on the cheek and, for the first time since I brought him into  my home, he wagged his tail. My Grandmother  opened her eyes and looked at him...Needless to say,  it was a very touching moment that brought me to tears.   Somehow, Sam knew she was not well and the two  of them communicated.  Although I already knew the  joy of sharing my life with an older dog, this certainly  captured that for me and I will never ever forget it.
