Tracey, Jamie, Conor, Liam |
Maple - 1990?-10/21/03 - Last night at 8:45 p.m., we made the difficult decision to let Maple go to Rainbow Bridge. I held her in my arms as she passed and it was really tough, but it was time. She had reached the point where she no longer enjoyed life and was wasting away before our eyes. Maple's favorite things: her pink blankie, walks when she was still able to do so, curling up snugly on Jamie's Grandma's crocheted blanket on the couch, chow time, lying in the sun, scratches behind the ears (especially when Dad gave them), licking the insides of Mom's shoes at the heels (!), licking baby Conor's feet, lying on Dad's clothes and patrolling the house. Maple's nicknames: Lieutenant Woof, the Gremlin, Winkie, Brown Bear, Fozzy Bear, the Foz, Sugar Bear, Cujo, Punkin, the Divine Miss M, the Sphinx, the Mighty Maple, Peanut, Pooticles. Goodnight, sweet little Peanut. You were never intended to be ours, but we're so glad you were in our lives and that we never found a suitable adopter for your special needs. You chose us to be your parents; you knew from the start. You taught us patience and let us into your heart as you'd never done with anyone else in your previous, unhappy life. We hope you know we love you and will never forget you. Wait for Mommy & Daddy at the Bridge with Bandit (no fighting). We miss you, sweetheart. |
Our beloved Bandit went to the Bridge this morning around 11:00 a.m., June 8, 2003. She suffered from congestive heart failure and was no longer living a life of any quality. We've had her for over 11 years and she was our first child. Bandit's favorite things: roughhousing w/Dad, walks in the park w/Mom, sucking on her stuffed hedgehog and the sides of her dog bed, car rides (hanging her head out the window), trips to the cabin in the mountains, hard pretzels, teeny tiny sips of beer or Coke, vanilla ice cream cones from Dairy Queen, chasing squirrels or ducks, stealing Dad's garden gloves or socks, tearing up Dad's used napkins, peanut butter, poking her head inside plastic grocery bags to search for treats planted by Dad, corn on the cob, spaghetti, strawberries, watermelon and treats from Grandpa. Bandit's nicknames: Binky, the Bink, Stinky, Boo Bear, Snortin' Norton, Ziffel, Ban-Ban, Bandito, Farticus. Goodbye sweetheart....Daddy and I will never forget you. Don't forget to wait for us at the Bridge.....we love you and will miss you always, special girl. |

R.I.P. Bunny Lee (aka The Busy Bee) Ulrich 6/23/09
Bunny was diagnosed with osteosarcoma of the jaw 8 weeks, 1 day ago. Today she went to the Rainbow Bridge. She had stopped eating and drinking and was very very weak. Good night, Sweet Pea. Love you always. As Dr. Bill says, you're running with the pack now. Bunny's favorite things were her stuffed Hedgehog and her Bobo and Mommy's homemade pancakes. Also, when Mommy made spaghetti, she'd be hanging around until she got some. She liked scratches behind the ears and liked to lay in the sun. In her younger years, you could count on her to bark like mad when the doorbell rang and she'd greet people by doing a little "dance" with her paws held up high. When a pit bull took a chunk out of her at our vet's office a few years ago, she held her ground like the brave little girl she was. Dr. Bill still talks about that incident and how tough she was. Her nicknames were: Busy Bee, Miss Lee, Bun Bun and Gasseopeia. |
