| APRIL 27, 2003 Larry Kearney was born in Brooklyn in 1943. He attended Brooklyn Technical High School and Harpur College. In 1963, he moved to San Francisco and the poetry of Jack Spicer, Richard Duerden, Jamie MacInnis et al. He lacks a firm ground in theory and considers that a great good. He has produced thirteen books of poetry, a children's book, three volumes of a memoir and three published collaborations. David Baker Benson was born in Houston, Texas on New Year'sEve in 1978. While a young child, he began drawingin the afternoon, but abandoned this practice in the first grade to devote himself seriously to writing. After a year of room and board in Heidelberg, he returned to the City in the Fall of 2002, frequenting pho houses, most notably P.P.Q. on Irving. At the risk of speaking too soon, David's pick to click for 2003 is the tomato beef soup at Yuet Lee on Broadway and Stockton. He sings lead in the folk-rock bar band Masterpiece, who perform each Wednesday at Ireland's 32 on Geary Boulevard. |
