November 2, 2003 - Jocelyn Saidenberg & Haleh Hatami It was a dark and stormy night, and a wunderbar reading. Jocelyn Saidenberg read a newish poem "Carnal" which was quite exciting, followed by very very new work and beginnings. A drink or two was had. Haleh Hatami erected a sheet in my living room and showed her animated work with sound and text. This is extremely bitching. Cigarettes were had by all. Thanks everybody for coming, and especially Jocelyn and Haleh!!!! |

November 23, 2003 - Liz Young & Judith Goldman Poets in the West haven't gained the reputation over the last 3,000 years for prompt arrival, but a lot of people came to this reading and lots were even early!!! Liz Young read a smorgasboard of short poems that made us laugh, cry, remember fondly our younger years, and contemplate Britney Spears sans makeup. Judith Goldman made us an anthology of her works of love and hate. Both poets used the word "Ripped" and meant it in two very different ways. Drinks were drank and drunks were drunk. Thanks all of you who came by, and much love Liz and Judith!!! |
