I am sickened by the capacity for hate most republicans have. The fact they still feel it necessary to circulate trivial lies about any democrat they disagree with, especially the Clintons, while there are far more pressing things they should be angry about like the fact the World Trade Center is gone, is beyond disgusting.

Earlier in the week an ex-coworker, (a victim of Bush’s lovely new economy and another corporate down-sizing), forwarded me the email about how the Gold Star Moms went to DC and got snubbed by Hillary. Now this guy is such a die hard republican that even when queried about how he felt about the fact the USSC’s selection of the president disenfranchised the entire nation’s voting rights, including his, he comes back with, “Well, I think maybe the USSC
should choose the president, after all most of the general public isn’t smart enough to vote anyway. Maybe they’d make a better decision.” Reminding him that that is not how a democracy works, he says something outrageous like, “well, maybe it should be.” It gets rather pointless trying to argue with such logic, which may be why it seems all the democrats have become such cowards; perhaps they just don’t have the energy to argue with people who are clearly insane.

Now if you’re not familiar with the email, in a nutshell it rants on about how a “delegation” of Gold Star Moms (mothers who’ve lost their children in US military combat), went to DC to try to meet with their “elected representatives”. The email states: “According to published reports, there was only one politician who refused to meet with these ladies.”  Of course it goes on to claim that one politician was, of course, according to them, The Mistress Of Darkness herself, Hillary Clinton. (Of course knowledge is evil, and smart people are the devil.) It is signed “Sincerely, Cdr. Hamilton McWhorter USN (ret)”.  In the post script it goes on about how the Clinton’s bought a “million+ dollar house in upscale Chappaqua, NY”, (like that is somehow outrageous. Where do these people live? Oh yeah, I forgot, in the Rocks & Coyotes states where the cost of living is nothing. They should try coming here to Los Angeles County – where the average price for a 3 bedroom home, built in the ‘40s and in need of repair is around $450k.) And about how they are supposedly charging the Secret Service rent to live there that equals their $10k mortgage payment. Of course, it ends with “how many people can you send this email to?”

It doesn’t take much to check this story out. With a simple visit to
www.goldstarmoms.com, you find this note posted on their main page:

With regard to the NewsMax article concerning our organization,
the American Gold Star Mothers, Inc., deeply regret the misunderstanding
about Senator Hillary Clinton. The two mothers who visited Washington
did not have an appointment with the Senator and she was not in her office
on that day. We would appreciate it if the e-mails and negative comments
about Senator Clinton would cease.

Georgianna Carter-Krell, National President

So in these republican’s twisted minds a “delegation” equals two, and because the universe revolves around them, they can just waltz into DC and expect anyone who they deem important to speak with to: A) Not only be there waiting for them, and psychically anticipating their visit; but, B) Drop whatever they are doing, whether or not it might be something as important as seeing to it that the victims of 9/11 get some of the money that has been raised for them, and they don’t lose their homes, and meet with them without an appointment! I wonder what it’s like living in their fantasy world.

If you go to the site
www.truthorfiction.com, you can find the truth about both of these pathetic stories, including the fact that the Clintons are not charging anyone rent; (hello, the government pays the Secret Service, and their living expenses); but also: "All presidents and former presidents are eligible for Secret Service protection and, according to a Secret Service spokesman, the presidents are reimbursed for any area of the home that is used by Secret Service agents.  The amount is based on a formula, however, not defined by the homeowner.  Based on that formula, Mr. Clinton would be eligible for more than $1,000, but he has declined the money for his New York home."

How these people can scream about a lie so trivial as though it were the most egregious sin, while not shouting about how the hit on the WTC was most likely a pre-emptive strike by bin Laden against Bush’s promise/threat of the “Carpet of gold or a carpet of bombs” to the Taliban if they would give the U.S. the pipeline deal instead of the Argentineans, or who are the owners of the "put options" against UAL or AMR inc, or who gave the stand-down orders to the military not to get planes in the air the second the FOUR commercial aircraft were known to be off course which is STANDARD OPERATING PROCEEDURE, is beyond distasteful. They’re like a child hysterically crying that their toy is broken while the San Diego Medical Examiner is trying to identify seven-year old Danielle van Dam’s horribly burned and unrecognizable body.

How have these people’s priority barometer gotten so far askew? Their capacity to hate is unspeakably appalling.  I sit in wonder, expecting them to start foaming at the mouth any second like a rabid dog. Perhaps we should afford them the same treatment we give such tortured animals.

Spiritually, I’m a private person, but I wonder what Jesus would think?  An image of Him slapping them silly, screaming
“what were you thinking???” pops into my head, but I'm sure I'm being kind.
