Yes BC – I wish I had Jorja Fox’s luck! As if the West Wing wasn't cool enough, now she gets to work in VEGAS??? (ok, some locations are shot here. - They like my neighborhood, in fact.)

Ok, as some of you are aware, I am leaving very shortly for an adventure to a sunnier (I hope), warmer (it better be) clime where there are many tequila distilleries. I will be cyber free for an entire week! I can’t say how many rants I’ve got in me between now & this weekend, hell, I can barely think past which bikinis I should pack, but I’ll do my best.

I am warming up for a SAG Awards vs Oscars rant – since I won’t be in town for the (Oscar) announcements next Tuesday, but give me a day or two.

In between trying to decide which tours to take, and which books I want to pack I’ve been having some random thoughts on THAT WHICH HAS PISSED US OFF.

1 – I wonder how the Pentecostal Christians view the Ashcroft appointment. Now – everyone’s first reaction most likely is that they are tickled pink, and prouder than any parent. HOWEVER – if he is as devout as he claims, doesn’t accepting the position, nay the nomination itself, make him a blasphemer by definition? Now, seriously, think about this: (Yes, I know there are many hypocrites in every religion.) But – how can he support laws, which go against the very fabric of his faith, thus making him a sinner if he upholds them? He cannot have it both ways. He either is devout and true to his faith – in which case he should have graciously or righteously declined the nomination, or he only uses his religion when it’s convenient, which makes him a liar, and a sinner. So, how can they in good conscience, staying true to their faith, back such evil? OOOPS.

2 - I read in the Bakersfield Californian (I was up in the tiny republican enclave of Stallion Springs, near Tehachapi (wind farms) this weekend – someone dragged me, don’t ask) on Saturday that Dianne Feinstein voted YES for Gail Norton. Diminutive Barbara Boxer had the cojones and voted NO for both Ashcroft & Norton. But Dianne – only voted against Ashcroft. Either most of the dems are just plain ignorant, or too busy to read their email, letters, and faxes, let alone spend anytime reading the real news on the web. Babbs – you have my vote. Di – you’ve lost mine until you prove yourself worthy of it in future.

3 – Speaking of tiny little repub enclaves in BFE – here was a juicy tidbit from their Opinion Page written by a guy who is a car salesman –

EEEEEEEEEEK! (ok, I might agree that Carter’s goodness might balance the evil of Reagan/Bush but read the rest – it gets better.)

4 – CNN is beyond fired. I wish I could remove them from my cable lineup so I wouldn’t even have to surf by them. I stumbled onto someone yapping on yet again about the “Gift Registry” which doesn’t exist like it was fact – even though the store in question has already made a public statement that there is no Clinton gift registry – nor has there ever been one. Who needs facts? Whatever happened to all those great libel suits? Remember when Carol Burnett sued the National Enquirer?

5 – How much Ibuprophen does one need for seven sun filled days of tequila consumption and not having to worry about driving? Ahhhhhh…..I can hear the waves and the soft lilt of Mariachi music now………
