If you answered 'YES' then I can assure you that you will have plenty of enjoyable hours with your fun loving pet.
If you have read this far and are still very interested in a Beagle I would recommend you read this more detailed description of the breed and its characteristics.
Characteristics & Behaviours
One of their greatest attributes is the beagles extremley good temperament. For this reason they make an excellent family pet, they are one of the few breeds that can be recommended for children.
Because the beagle was bred as a pack animal it is important they receive plenty of company, This can be of human form or from other dogs. If you are away for long periods of time and the dog has no other company it is recommended if a beagle is the breed you fully desire that you get two. This is not meant as a sales pitch to sell another dog - if he has company of a friend while you are away, he will be much more settled, dig fewer holes, bark alot less and won't get fat due to having a friend to play with which is excellent exercise.
The beagle must be able to roam free in a secure backyard or in the house. It is cruel to put your beagle on a chain as they are not adapted to this sort of treatment. If you cannot provide a escape proof yard without having to chain your dog up, DONT BUY A BEAGLE.

Exercise
Beagles were bred to hunt and have a very high level of stamina and need regular exercise in a secure yard & ON LEAD are both very important. The beagle is a scent hound and once on the scent it is like all of their other senses go and they only focus on their little nose. For this reason we recommend your beagle needs to be on lead at ALL TIMES for his safety.
Food
For a healthy beagle feed time should not be a problem. We recommmend rice based dog food with no articificial flavouring or colouring. If you do feel you wish to feed your dog some tinned products I would recommend Pedigree Puppy Pal for puppies and adults. Fresh meat and bones are highly recommended for any dogs diet. Please dont feed cooked bones. We will provide all puppy buyers with a Diet Chart on sale of their new puppy.

Health
Providing they are looked after beagles will rarely need veterinary attention. They only require their annual vaccinations against disease and anti worm treatment. If your puppy has been purchased as a pet we strongly recommend to have them desexed.
The floppy ears of the Beagle can lead to ear problems. Regular ear cleaning with an ear cleanser will elimate most problems.
The average Lifespan is 10 - 15 yrs.

Grooming

The beagle is a naturally clean dog and is easy to groom. He only requires a few minutes brushing daily and an occasional bath.
