Islands of the Eastern Caribbean
Ft. Lauderdale is one very busy port, particularly on a Sunday afternoon when there's a number of cruise ships boarding & getting ready to leave the harbor.  We had cabin 6008, it was only three cabins from a great open deck that overlooked the bow.

Beside cruise ships, on a beautiful weekend, you also have a number of pleasure craft using the intercoastal waterway.  The way the ship was lined up at the pier meant the captain had to back down the waterway & then make a 90 degree turn to head out into open ocean.  No small feat when you have almost 1000 feet of ship to move in a fairly tight area!
After lunch at the Lido, unpacking & the lifeboat drill, we explored a bit, said bye to Ft. Lauderdale & it was time for dinner.  By the time we got going the next day, the pilot boat from Naussa was arriving.
No! They don't stop the ship when the harbor pilot moves from boat to ship.  Just one quick move & he's on the ship!
Can't you just feel that sun!
Since we only had a few hours in port, Liz & I just cruised around town & picked up some soda for the room.  Then at noon, it was off to St. Maarten.
