Southern Cross Club - October 2002

Only 3 days prior to our arrival, hurricane Lili had hit the island with 80 mph winds & two weeks earlier, hurricane Isidore had hit the island with its winds & torrential rain.  Amazingly, the island looked great!!  A few roof shingles torn off, a few trees with broken limbs &  bunch of trash blown up on the beach to clean up.  Not much other damage. While we were there, every day was sunny and beautiful!!! Seas were calm & diving was excellent.  Besides the diving, Liz & I snorkeled from Owen Island to the club & also did a picnic lunch, snorkeling & an 8 mile bike ride back from Point of Sand.  We also rode down to the west end of the island & did some shell collecting...

It takes a lot of dedicated people to make a place work as smoothly as SCC does.  Everyone at the Club is wonderful, not only at their particular job, but for going out of their way to make every moment of our yearly trek to the island an incredible break from the daily grind of phones, pagers & our customers. The next few pages are my way of saying thanks to all of you, & as usual, it's done with a bit of humor.  Enjoy the page... Get a few laughs & know, we love ya!!!
