Well, here it is... the moment you have all been holding your breaths for
...THE RETURN OF THE BARKER'S BEAUTIES...
And not a moment too soon! Here's the scoop, we're all on Christmas break, so when our dear friends Vacuity approached us about putting something together for a show, we thought "Why not have a Barker's reunion?" Consider it our late Christmas present to you, the loyal fans. Details are still trickling in, but the date will be Friday January 17th at The Circus Room. Barker's Beauties will be opening for the debut of the new project tentatively titled: "The Dirty Love", who will then be followed the great Vacuity. They are doing some shows in preparation for their highly anticipated new CD. I have had the pleasure of hearing some of the new songs, and they are killer. Don't miss this one, you'll regret it...

Okay boys & girls, here's the news. You've all been waiting a long time, and faithfully checking the site for new updates and shows, and pictures, etc. You've all probably been wondering why the damn site hasn't been updated since May. For this I apologize. As many of you know, Barker's Beauties are on an indefinite hiatus. Many factors led to this decision. Jason is now attending college in the thriving metropolis of Welland, I am currently in college at Conestoga, Jordan is working full-time and trying to find new housing, and Weaver...well Weaver is a busy busy guy... It is not known if or when Barker's Beauties will return, there may or may not be an "Anthology" issued. One thing is for sure, something bigger and better WILL rise from the ashes of 'The Greatest and Best Band in the World': Barker's Beauties. But, in the meantime, if there is any new news to be had, ie. new projects, events, a Greatest Hits, etc. check this site, as it will all be posted here. Thanks for rawkin out with ya cawks out.

10/5/02 - KYAC Battle of the Bands |

Last night we played the KYAC Battle of the Bands of the Forest Heights Community Centre. The Beauties began the night by going outside to shave Jordan a mohawk. Back inside, "The Grind" took the stage, opening it up with a solid set. Next up was Mirage, some cool mostly instrumental metal, a decent cover of silverchair's "slave" too! Jason cleverly switched Fervid Whisper's intro to read "Grab your hanky & get ready for a good cry, here comes the best in Hungarian Folk music... Fervid Whisper!" ...nice work Jason.... Then The White Lights hit the stage, tearin it up & bringing the crowd back to life with a kick ass cover of 'My Generation' by The Who, just in time for BARKER'S BEAUTIES to hit the stage. "You've just been slapped in the face by The White Lights, now get ready to be kicked in the nuts by the Barker's Beauties!!!!!!" Jason shouted before the band kicked into 'Why Bother'. Despite some technical problems and other minor mistakes the set seemed to go over quite well. Near the end of the set all heck broke loose as Jason jumped off a table, pouring water over a monitor, and knocking a Fervid Whisper fan out cold. Vacuity then came on to close it down, playing a really tight set. They played a really cool new original, and a smoking cover of 'Plug in Baby' by Muse...(check Muse out, they are amazing!)
1 stage monitor + 1 Fervid Whisper fan = CASUALTIES OF RAWK 'N' ROLL

Yes folks, we now have a web page! TA-DA! If you don;t know the band you may not get some of these jokes and think we're all a bunch of losers... and hey there's a slight chance that maybe we are. But, I digress, I would like to welcome everyone to our new cyber-home. I do not necessarily like all this "high tech gadgetry", but it seems to be a necessary evil. I will try to update as often as I can. Please send me any ideas/pics/complaints/etc I will get back to you!
