Barleyton is an innovative, all natural and efficacious blend of roasted and integrated cereals and officinal flours of vegetable origin for a daily usage in a minute quantity just to assure the best horses' wellness and health.

In fact its physical properties meet the requirement of equine breeding which is the maximization of horses' wellness providing a high energy feed (cereals and related products) lacking in anti nutritional elements (ammonia and micotoxines).

The risk is an increase in bacteria which produce lactic acid and therefore a alteration of the PH level which has the following consequences:

  1. Metabolic acidosis which reduces the appetite in the animal and the index of conversion;
  2. Lesions of the gastrointestinal surfaces with bacteria seeping into the blood (risk of breeding grounds of hepatic necrobaccillosis peritonitis-increase of toxic substances and histasminosimilis which bring lameness dependant on the limbs and necrosis of the tail, diarrhoea and loose faeces;
  3. Deterioration of intestinal villi with a consequent reduction of absorption of nutrients and gastrointestinal microflora.

These symptoms appear also in cases of cautious rations altered by the presence of mould and their metabolites
(aflatoxins, micotoxins).

To prevent or stop these symptoms Barleyton must be daily added to equine’s diet.

Barleyton is a natural absorbent of vegetable origin which role is of extreme importance as far as the high capacity of molecular absorption stops the formation of poisonous mould and absorbs the eventual toxins produced from the same (aflatotoxin, micotoxin etc,).

Its capacity of absorption is directed towards any kind of present toxin (be it of foodstuffs, or produced by anomalous fermentative processes), still less as regards unpleasant gases such as ammonia, amine, mercaptan with a benefit to the animal and the environment. So its action is that of maintaining the normal pH level in various sectors of the gastroenteric apparatus (stomach, small intestine, middle and large intestine) that is to say contrasting the variations of  pH carried in foodstuffs.

Other than the effect "buffer" involved to neutralize H+, Barleyton assures the elimination (H+) with the faeces together with other toxic substances (toxins, ammonia etc.).
The most important functions of Barleyton used in equine foodstuffs are the following:

   a)  Stimulator of the assumption of the food:

       -for the presence of glutamic acid;
       -for the elimination of acidosis status;
       -for a quick gastro intestinal movement.

   b) Regulator on the microorganisms of the gastroenteric tract:

       -to regulate the gastrointestinal environment;
       -because it maintains the normal values of acidity in the digestive tract inhibiting
        putrefying germs.

   c) Detoxicator:

        - in virtue of methionine action which intervenes at the liver level.

   d) Improver of absorption of nutrients:

       - of which a deficiency provokes physiological disturbances above all when because
         of transport stress, athletic performances or food increases the energy
         requirements on the part of the organism.

   e) Buffer action:

         - maintenance of normal PH level in various sector of gastroenteric apparatus.

   f) Eliminating action:

         - elimination of H+ with the faeces together with other toxic substances
           (toxins, ammonia etc.).

   g) Decongestant action:

         - decongestant of gastrointestinal mucosa, improvement of absorption of nutrients
           and growth of gastro intestinal villi and microflora;

The advantages of using Barleyton are a consequence of its vegetable origin which does not imply serious inconveniences such as the ones that derive from the assumption of mineral origin substances (like bicarbonate, citrate, zeolite etc.).

It is well known that such elements, besides intoxicating the organism by the traces they leave, can also cause vomiting, diarrhea, arrhythmia, muscular spasm, irritability, apathy and, in certain cases, gastric perforation.

Barleyton, on the contrary, owing to its own elements and its special compounding process, improves horses’ health, well being and athletic performances, through a natural, immediate, efficacious and long lasting way, without any kind of prejudicial collateral effects.

   1) Preventive dosage:

      -) 5 months old colts, adults, brood-mares and stallions:

         50 / 100 grams (1.76 / 3.53 ounces) head/day ( 1, 2 full spoon measuring)
         to add to the daily ration.

      -) Foals and colts in weaning period up to 5 months old:

         30 / 50 grams (1.06 / 1.76 ounces)  head/day ( ½, 1 full spoon measuring)
         to add to the daily ration.

   2) Faeces flabby, mild gastroenteric pathologies, lack of appetite ect.

       -) Double the above mentioned dosage until the problems stop and then come
           back to preventive dosage.

   3) diarrhoea, colics, meteorism, strong lack of appetite ect.

        -) Triple the preventive dosage until the problems stop and then reduce down,
            from day to day, to come back to preventive dosage.

Barleyton, being a natural product, does not have contraindications or negative side effects, so there is not danger as a result of an incorrect dosage.
Exceeding the recommended feeding rates, simply results in the animal passing the excess in its faeces.
