The order in which participants in the 2003 Eurovision Song Contest will appear on stage will be determined in a lottery at noon on November 29, 2002, in the studios of Latvian Public Television. The event will be hosted by the two people who will also host the Eurovision Song Contest itself. Their names will be made public for the first time on that day.
The lottery will be a specially produced process which will offer the audience an early look at the design of the concluding event on May 24, 2003. The event will be attended by the Dzirnas dance group under the leadership of Agris Danilevičs. Special artistic surprises are being planned, too.
The script for the event was produced by Uģis Brikmanis, the set will be designed by Aivars Ozoliņš, and the director for television will be Armands Zvirbulis.
The broadcast will be transmitted to the public television stations of the participating countries on the same day. Latvian Television viewers will see it at 10:15 PM on Sunday, December 1, during the weekly broadcast “Eirodziesma” (Euro-Song).
The lottery will be attended by representatives of the European Broadcasting Union and by journalists from various countries.
A press conference will be held after the event, at approximately 12:30 PM.
