We recommend you bring your own firearms. However firearms can be hired by prior arrangement. On entry you will be issued with a temporary import firearm permit valid for the duration of the hunt.

It is important to select the correct rifles and calibers for the hunter's intended hunting. For plains game a suitable scope sighted rifle in 7 mm or .30 caliber is advised and will cover a wide range of game. The minimum caliber required for the species of the Big Five is .375 H&H.

We recommend that you bring along at least 40 to 60 rounds of ammunition per calibre. Remember that rifles have to be sighted in on arrival at the base camp.
