Panniers (pan-yers) are an authetic and highly practical way of toting gear, even when a mule is not used. These bags are made in pairs, and are used on the sawbuck pack saddle. Some are used with wood boxes inside, others without, as soft packs. This example is hand sewn, using old recycled harness leather and brass roller buckles. |
