The Gates

I’m sure you’ve heard a chilling story
And a horror tale or two
Well I have one that’s ultra scary
And cross my heart, this one is true

It happened on a stormy night
When I was home alone
All around dogs howled in fright
I could hear the sound of crunching stone

It was footsteps walking just outside
There came a tapping on my window
I jumped, I ran, I went to hide
From my kitchen came a ghostly glow

I shivered, I shook, I gasped and groaned
As I crouched in a bedroom cupboard
Then closer, closer, a creature moaned
I heard it slowly draw a sword

The lights flickered, flashed and blew
The smoke alarms went beep
I smelt the stench of burning stew
Had the reaper come to reap?

Oh no, I am too young to go
To the great theme park in the sky
I would not take this lying low
I would ring my mum to say goodbye

I took my mobile in my hand
And rung my mum to ask for help
There came a growl, a grumble and…
Then I heard the monster stop and yelp

With my mighty mobile help aloft
I opened up the cupboard door
And saw Bill Gates from Microsoft
Lying still upon the floor

Ah ha, revenge, it finally came
For all the times my computer died
And now I know Bills true game
He is an alien… I have not lied
