Athens:
a considerable amount of plain austere art deco or moderne
architecture was built between the wars.
Many of the
villas have been replaced, some of the small apartment complexes
remain, with many seemingly now on borrowed time.
The interiors
tend to be free of ornamentation, and they often present a heavy
metal and glass door to the street where the decorative elements
are concentrated.
The former Art
Deco Rex Cinema (Left) is now used as a theatre |
