Duty Watch III                                                                                             Working Division - Second

Port Routine

General - Uniform of the Day: CLEAN dungarees with blue hats.
             - Group I air bedding, weather permitting.
             - General field day.

0545 - Reveille.
0600 - Turn to, clean ship. Wash down weather decks.
0730 - Secure from Condition Yoke, set Condition X-ray.
0800 - Quarters for Engineers, R and EX divisions.
         - 36 hand working party and 7 petty officers report to fantail to break out provisions to be detailed
            as follows:
                     4 hands and 2 PO's each from the 1st, 3rd, 4th;
                     4 hands each from 5th, 6th divisions;
                     4 hands and 1 PO from the 2nd division;
                     4 hands from the 7th division;
                     8 hands from the Engineers.
0830 - Quarters for muster.
0930 - Guard mail trip to SOPA.
1215 - First liberty boat. Send patrol in this boat.
1300 - Second liberty boat.
1415 - Boxing Squad lay aft on the starboard side of turret III for a workout.
1630 - Guard mail trip to SOPA.
1715 - First liberty boat leaves dock.
1730 - First mess in wardroom.
1800 - Last liberty boat leaves dock. Patrol returns.

One half hour before sunset - Set Condition Yoke. Prepare to darken ship.

Sunset - Darken ship.

1815 - Second mess in wardroom.
1900 - Movies on deck, weather permitting.

NOTE #1.      First aid instructions will be given to all new men who reported aboard since September 7,
                      1943. These men  will receive instruction in accordance with the following schedule, aft
                       of turret III.
                              TIME             DIVISION
                              1300               FM, V, AND I (Port)
                              1300               5th (Starboard)

NOTE #2.      Division officers are reminded that progress courses for men being recommended for
                      advancement this month are due in the Navigator's Office today.
                      Recommendations for advancement are due in the Executive Officer's  Office 10
                      November.

NOTE #3.      Liberty will be granted to not more than 10 per cent of each division. Lists should be in
                      Executive Officer's Office by 1000. Liberty parties are not permitted beyond the environs
                      of the Villages of Nandi and Lautoka.
                      Picking coconuts is prohibited.
