::Seta Soujirou::

Soujirou was born into the family of a prostitute and a rice maker, but his parents died, so he was adopted by his father's family. The family despises him and expresses so by brutally beating him and treating him like a slave. To avoid more of their beating, he would smile because if he cried, they would beat him even more. However this all changes when he encounters a "sadistic killer" that goes by the name of Shishio Makoto. Soujirou was about to be killed, but Shishio was willing to let him live in exchange for bandages and food. Shishio starts to hide at Soujirou's family's rice storage house and teaches Soujirou the concept of "The strong survive, and the weak die," and "the weak is food for the fittest". In exchange for shelter, Shishio gives Soujirou a small sword. Soujirou later uses this sword to kill his family because his brother, Yanosuke tries to murder him after finding out that Soujirou was hiding a criminal. The family, instead of stopping Yanosuke, encourages him to do so, in hope of getting a reward from the police. After this incident, Shishio teaches Soujirou his fighting techniques. With this, Soujirou loses all his feelings, replacing them with a smile. In this way, his opponents won't be able to read his moves, making him difficult to defeat.

In the end, Soujirou was defeated by Kenshin's Ama Kakeru no Hirameki. He realizes that he had been wrong. Soujirou decides to become a rurouni. He returns Shishio's sword, and tells Yumi to tell Shishio the secret of the Ama Kakeru no Hirameki. Soujirou, realizing that Shishio's theory wasn't true, starts on his journey of traveling for 10 years, in search of normal life.

Accompanying with Soujirou's supressed emotions, Soujirou also uses the technique of Shukuchi. The Shukuchi is god-like speed. It is impossible for the human eye to follow. With these two advantages combined, it is extremely difficult to claim victory against Soujirou.
