Waiting Room in hospital:

Alexis is searching for a new outlook on the tragedy that has caused her dismay. The doctors have said nothing as Alexis paces impatiently while the guys are sitting silently. AJ approaches Alexis and instructs her to have a seat.

"It's gonna be ok, Hun. I promise. Have I ever lied to you?" While they wait and console each other, Brian's parents arrive and increase the number of mourners. Doctor Read entered with cheerless eyes.

"Well, who are Mr. Littrell's parents?" says the doctor.

"We are, Doctor," said Mr. and Mrs. Littrell. "Is Brian going to be alright?"

"Please, all, be seated." Everybody sat down frightened for the worse.

"Well we checked the stats, and it appears that he has a staph infection and a small puncture in his heart. This may result in major surgery. Until then, we are going to set him in ICU and on some heavy medication." Alexis just gawks, not aware how to respond. Katie soothes her the best she can.

The doctor declares, "Visiting hours for Mr. Littrell will be 8AM to 12AM tomorrow. Now I must warn you Brian is not in the best of health, so please do not let him get energized. Now will you excuse me? I have other patients."

Everybody opts to go back to the hotel because they cannot do anything else. Alexis does not want to leave.

"Alexis, Sweetie, you need your sleep and Brian's a fighter. He will be OK," says Jackie struggling to convince Alexis and herself that Brian will make it.

"No! I want to be here if he wakes up." Alexis says almost in a state of bewilderment.

"Look, I'll stay with her. We'll call you if he shows any signs of hope." AJ states as he gives Alexis a hug. As everyone leaves to go back, AJ convinces Alexis to go get a bit to eat.

"Look, Hun, I don't know 'bout you, but the hospital does not have the best quality food. Let's go somewhere with high style grub. Let's say Burger King." (AN: ya know they did a thing with BK)

Alexis cracks a smile, "Sure thing." As they eat at BK, they chatter about all the good times they have had with Brian.

2 in the morning
BACK AT THE HOSPITAL:

While AJ is asleep on Alexis's shoulder, she is browsing the channels for at least something decent to watch. A hammering headache leaves her agitated and restless. Suddenly she catches a glimpse of MTV news.

"Well, all you Backstreet fans who know and adore the boys have probably gathered info about the misfortune of Brian Littrell's poor health. He is currently in ICU for a staph infection. Our hearts and prayers go out to the fellow Backstreet Boys and family. Meanwhile *Nstink... I mean... *NSync has gone bankrupt. Their lead singer Justin Timberlake has been arrested for ...... This is Emily Clayton for MTV news." (AN: Just joking, Emily!)

Hastily flipping the channel for fears of the realization of uncertainty of Brian's health, her eyes are now focused on a steamy romance as it unfolds on the television screen. Before long she envisions herself as the girlfriend while Brian plays the role of her romantic boyfriend. As the film continues, the boyfriend suddenly falls out of love for his girl and abandons her in a desolate town. Angrily Alexis turns off the TV and carefully slithers AJ off her shoulder, as she quickly heads to get a hold of a cup of coffee.
