» CHAPTER SIX «

COMMANDER'S PALACE:
Alexis, Katie, and Kevin walk in together looking for the rest of the group. Seeing that no one was there yet, they sit at their reserved table. They barely get a chance to talk when Howie and AJ walk in leaving one spot next to Katie.

"Wait a minute! AJ didn't you have a date?" Katie asked suspiciously.

"Um..... yeah But she suddenly got sick!" AJ says not looking at KAtie in the eye.

"Yeah I'm sure, AJ," Katie says now knowing something was up.

At that time, Brian and Candy walk in, but Alexis doesn't notice because she was talking to Kevin.

"Hey, sup, Kevin?" a voice from behind said. Alexis recognizes that sweet country voice. She slowly turns around hoping it to be the person she is thinking of. Alexis meets the deep pools of blue and just stares in awe. Kevin seemed to be talking, but she didn't notice and it seemed that he didn't either.

Kevin says noticing the stare," So Alexis what would you like to eat?"

"Uhh? O just order me some pasta please," she says breaking the stare.

"Brian, honey, just order me a salad with low fat dressing," Candy said trying to sit down in her tight tube top dress.

"Sure," Brian says still looking at Alexis, staring in complete awe.

Late as always, Nick walks in a suit taking the only seat available which was next to Katie.

"Oooooo, where did you find this hottie, Alexis?" Nick asked not realizing who it was. Katie turns around knowing the voice, but can't put a face to it.

"Hey.....," Katie says as she stops abruptly when she realizes it's Nick with a surprise look on his face.

"Hey.... Katie," Nick says unsurely as he sits down next to her not knowing what to say.

"I knew you had something going on," Katie whispers to Alexis. Alexis just shrugs.

They sit there in silence for a moment or two and then starts to break out into a conversation.  Kevin hearing the band start playing asks, "Alexis, could I have this dance?"

Soon all of the group is dancing with one person or another except for Katie and Nick.

"Look Nick, I'm sorry......"

"Katie, I'm sorry......"

Katie and Nick laugh lightly.

"I guess everything is cool between us but we both need a little time to heal. SO let's get on the dance floor!" Nick says as Katie giggles at his excitement.

Another song ends and Kevin decides to go use the restroom. ALexis sees Brian alone at the table and decides to go sit down for a sec.

"So, having fun with Kevin?" Brian asks with a bit of irritation in his voice.

Alexis decides to keep this conversation from turning into a big argument so she answers calmly, "O I'm having fun. And you with Candy?"

"Well I haven't really seen her much. She's been at the bar most of the time," Brian says quietly.

"O.... Well do you wanna dance?" Alexis asks unsurely of what to expect.

"Sure," Brian says surprised.

While they were dancing, Alexis saw Candy kissing the bartender. Even though she knew Brian should see the truth, she didn't want him to get hurt, so she tries to crack a joke. As Brian laughs at Alexis's joke, he looks past her shoulder and sees Candy kissing the bartender.

"Why?... WHat?... I gotta go," Brian says with disappointment in his voice.

"Brian! Wait!" Alexis says but she's too late. He's out of the door.

Kevin watches Alexis crying out for Brian and realizes that she likes Brian even if she won't admit it. He walks up to her.

"Hey! We need to talk," Kevin says.

"Ok. KEvin, I don't know about this whole dating thing. We don't know each other very well and please don't get mad at me..." Alexis says all; in one breath.

"Alexis, Alexis... clam down! I totally understand. I think you should go and catch up with Brian," Kevin says with a wink.

While all this is happening, AJ and Howie have left to go clubbing and Katie and Nick are still dancing enjoying every dance. Kevin decides to go back to the hotel.

"Hey, Where did everyone go?" Katie says.

"I think they all left. I think we should head back. It's getting late." Nick says.

BACK AT THE HOTEL:
"Well, I enjoyed tonight. I'm glad we made up," Katie says opening her door.

"Yeah. So I guess I'll see ya tomorrow," Nick says leaning down and giving her a kiss on the cheek and walks back to his room.

Alexis walks into the lobby hoping to find Brian at the hotel. SHe spots him going out the back door to the beach behind the hotel. Alexis decides to follow him.

ON THE BEACH:
Brian walks along the beach with loneliness in his eyes. Suddenly he hears someone behind him. He turns around to see Alexis running after him. He feels somewhat relieved, but doesn't know why.

"Hey, Curly cutie, I thought ya needed some company," Alexis says.

"Curly cutie? That's a new one," Brian says laughing lightly.

"So how are you? I mean about the Candy thing? Believe I know how it feels. It's happened to me many a times," Alexis says trying to comfort him.

"Yeah, I guess I didn't really love her, but I'm still disappointed. This happens all the time. I mean people dating me for my money and for what I am," Brian says with hurt in his eyes.

"Well, I think you could've done better. I mean she's just not your type." Alexis says.

"O and what is my type?" Brian says smiling for once in this night.

"Well..... someone sweet, caring, umm... pretty, smart, and just plain ol' fun girl," ALexis says. By this time they are sitting on the sand near the waves.

"Looks like you got me all figured out then! Well... you left one thing out. I can... at some times.. Be insanely crazy!!!" Brian says as he starts tickling Alexis.

"Stop, Stop... please..." ALexis laughed.

They ended all twisted up with their faces close to each other. Brian moves in to kiss Alexis, but they both knew that this is not the time or the place. As Brian helps ALexis up, they walk up to their own rooms. Both wondering what would happen in the future.
